16 - 11. They were definitely a factor
False.
Apparently this week Essendon’s opponent can blatantly duck in to tackles and be rewarded with a free.
And the last free for Dixon: pure fuckery.
Zerk had hold of Dixons arm
Like how Marshall had hold of Langford a number of times to allow another forward to take an uncontested mark.
Bad umpiring both ways, though most of the advantages to Port came because they are ducking good cheats.
Not disputing that. But that’s what the free kick was paid for
All good. I just didn’t pick it up at the time. Seeing the replay you can see he did it. Just frustrating it had been going on most of the day then they pluck one in the last 20 seconds.
Agree.
I only watched bits and pieces and I saw a few little pushes in the back, holds etc not paid
Pay them all or pay none
The centre bounces were absolutely shocking from the umps today. I can’t believe that at least a dozen weren’t recalled.
SPP did that also
And there were probably a dozen more that made it just inside the circle.
And that ball up in our forward 50 in the last, was also a direct advantage to port.
Yeah, I didn’t have an opinion on JHF before this game, now I don’t like him. Flopped more than a fish out of water.
I bet that the ones that were not recalled were those that went to PA’s advantage.
I can not really remember to whose advantage they went. Just that the bounces appeared to be a problem most of the day and they refused to recall some complete shockers.
I think these bounces are a sort of Rohrshack test: the direction where they continually are directed is to the team the maggots consciously or subconsciously “prefer”. If they do NOT call it back as they didn’t last week when it went consistently Geelong’d way) then it is confirmation of bias.
Any maggot apologists who don’t like the above: please don’t comment before doing the analyses of called back vs non-called back misdirected bounces.
I thought the umpires were ordinary all day but the game was pretty contested and they just made the most of it. They just didn’t kick straight and could have won by more. Wasn’t the umpires. We should have played smarter going forward.
So how does Merret get pinged for holding the ball when he actually won the ball
Perkins holding the ball was like well he barely
had it
Merret dove on it. Then stood up, and didn’t get rid of it. That’s a technical one for ‘diving on it’
But not long afterwards, a port player dove on it, then rolled onto his back, which is some kind of antidote to giving away a free.
