Probably worth mentioning how the waiver wire system works in-season for those who are new.
After each round, all available free agents will be ‘locked’ and placed on the waiver wire. Each Wednesday you can ‘bid’ on certain players to add to your roster if you so chose, however will have to drop a player from your team in a corresponding move. The priority is in reverse ladder order (kind of like a mini draft) so if 6th on the ladder and 2nd on the ladder bid on the same player, the team lower on the ladder gets priority.
You don’t have to add anyone if you don’t want to, but it’s a good way to replace injured or underperforming players. You’ll see that I replaced Kittle with Warren today, but nobody else bid on him, so I got him.
Edit: bidding is blind, so you wont know if your bid is successful until after waivers clear which is usually 4.30-5pm ACST.

So your other move this week (Nix→Lawrence) had seemed to go through immediately a couple of days ago, and was sent as a notification via sleeper. Was that a different situation to the Kittel→Warren move?

So you can bud up until Wednesday, and then find out if you got the player, and after that it’s a free for all (hence why I could just add a player today). I hadn’t realised that you had to bid, and how to do that, as the system wasn’t clear how to add/delete players. I was looking for ± buttons and having to click on the position button wasn’t very intuitive to me.
Warren had been on my list of potential trade ins when I looked on Monday but thought I had to wait, and then got caught up with work! Damn.

Yep, exactly this. After the round of games have finished on a Tuesday, each free agent is put onto the waiver wire for us to bid on. After the waivers clear and players are allocated, they then become a free agent again and any team can pick them up without a bid.
So in this instance I bid on Warren to replace Kittle, waivers cleared and I was allocated Warren, then I picked up Lawrence for Nix in a separate move.
