Blitz Probe Cycling

Quoted Post

Claiming the lane and "first option" rights at roundabouts have been legal since forever. I think these have just been highlighted now.

Also is the rule of bike lane use being optional if deemed dangerous by the rider (parked cars/debris etc). Has always been there, just now brought to attention for those not in the know…

Causing the anti-cycle crowd up here no shortage of angst! Lol.

You mean ‘cycle wars’

pick a side and a weapon

pathetic media reporting

So, I’m really not comfortable getting Strava Kudos’d by people I don’t know or from random countries…let me tell you, I do full background checks whenever one of you dodgy buggers follows me or sends Kudos (big thanks, btw!).

And just now, I have been notified that “redwhiteapparel” in Singapore is following me…so you can imagine my paranoid bells are going mental right now.

Anyone know how to “block” someone from one’s following list??

Just go to your followers, click on the cog next to the follower you want remove and either block or remove follower.

I think you can also change your Strava privacy setting so that people have to ask permission to follow you. So you can reject everyone you don’t know straight off.

above is my first road bike…which i use as a commuter now.
and to play around with/spend money on upgrading parts on. doing repairs
I really like the look of it. the post above my bike in office is the stock photo, you can see that i havegot new wheels - shimano RS 10’s, tubes, added new drinkholder, seatpost, clipless pedals, brake pads, handlebar tape, etc.
And thats my free helmet i got when got my cannondale.

Plan on putting in a new stem and handlebars, and new tape…have had order saved on wiggle for a while. & Seat. though it doesnt hurt and id like to get another yellow one, and theres not many about.
possibly new gearing as well (currently stem shifters), in the future if i can find something decent and cheap…as otherwise would be worth more than the bike.

Any opinions on brands of skewers? The ones that came with my Zipp’s make a helluva racket.

Keep playing around with it. Seller’s remorse is a much bigger thing with bikes than buyer’s remorse - particularly first bikes. What sort of gear set up are the shifters driving. I’ve just bought some pre-loved 8 speed Shimano STI brake/shifter levers. There is pretty cheap used stuff around if you know what you want. New chainrings and cassettes are pretty cheap too if you want to change the gearing - just avoid thinking that everything has to be a matching group.

New Venge, it's not a tumor!

Cycling Tips not doing group rides at TDU next week but will be posting some maps and suggestions apparently.

That’s useful, thanks.

No Cipo after all. Won’t be coming due to unforeseen family issue.

If anyone has access to Netflix, I highly recommend watching ‘Slaying the Badger’. A fantastic insight into the world of team cycling, Greg LeMond’s foray into European cycling and the battle between teammates LeMond and Hinault.

I was too young for this era of cycling, but was engrossed by this story.

Yes very good, also on Youtube for people who want a lower cost perhaps lower quality version.

Damn conniving Frenchies!!

Slaying the Badger was very good. Then again I always liked LeMond.

Yeh it’s a good doco, even the non-cyclists present enjoyed it and learnt a little.

I'll likely be doing the Red Berry Espresso rides ... which from memory was were the Cycling Tips rides started last year anyway. We'll have to coordinate a Blitz ride :D
