Bomba Thompson

Can’t get through the paywall on my phone but seems he’s also done an interview with Mick Warner

Not sure I said that? All three have suffered enormously from the saga. Jim’s plight has been well documented but apparently now he is OK with help from family and true friends. Bomba’s has had to deal with his life plastered all over the media and Danny has lost the ability to be employed in a profession that was his life and passion because of that grubby Fitzpatrick. I’ll stop there.

It gets my blood boiling when I think about it.

Never forgive and never forget.

just rehash of old articles from last year … just cashing in on his ACA tearjerker tonight

Seb Costello is the interviewer, he said on Nova that Bomba wasn’t paid a cent for this interview.

Also wanted it to be viewed in a positive light, a message of fighting back.

Sorry I misread your post.
I thought you said Jim stitched him up.

My bad.

Not always. Who was that kid with the glasses who threw one of the all-time great teenage house parties? He appeared on ACA with the foxy Leila McKinnon and his reputation as a juvenile legend was cast in bronze. Max Markson even managed him for a period. That was a cracking appearance.

I heard Gary Ablett Snr was the builder in charge, and now the insurance company is refusing to pay because it was ‘an act of God’.

He also said “Go Bombers” to me at Melbourne City Wrestling two weeks back (due to my choice of mask).

True story.

Not being paid at all.

Bomba being diagnosed with PTSD after the saga is telling. My goodness.

Good on Hird and Dodoro for being there for him.

Summary for those wise enough not to watch ACA

-started using to numb his guilt over what happened
-never dealt drugs but used them
-after court issues subsided Hird and dodoro came and took him to a psych who diagnosed him with PTSD
-part of his rehab was to reengage, which was assisted by his children who actively reached out to him
-now working in woodwork with his brother, sons and nephews

Seems in a much better place.

His brother is a good electrician too. Helped us out a few times.

His parents used to live across the road from us. Great family. Good to see he’s doing better.

Makes me sad that the saga took that type of toll.

Me too. Same with Hird.

Hard to imagine the stress that those involved in the saga went through.

Thanks for the recap. I haven’t had a chance to see it yet. Much respect to Hird and Dodoro for stepping in to help.
