I don’t care who does it, I just want somebody to take a plunger and unclog the sh*t-piled toilet that is our list.
Sheedy was a plumber
There’s a joke about Brad Scott and Kangas somewhere there but I cbf workshopping it.
Who uses metal pipes anymore?
Also, Adrian “Rusty Pipes” Dodoro has a good ring to it!
It’s the list. But also the coach.
Wow
You just said you don’t trust the club to get the next pick right.
Still waiting for the ruthless no bullshit accepted Brad Scott who’ll demolish the crap on the list to unleash himself like I have been told on here is imminent for nearly 2 years, nearly 730 days, nearly 1051200 minutes now.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Especially now that he wasn’t actually doing anything for 2 years because Caroline said he was into BDSM and had his hands tied behind his back all this time.
yah kinda true - but the culture had already started eroding - Hirdy was manhandled and bullied by our current coach and brother, which would never have happened in 2000.
They were 2nd on the ladder for a while, they aren’t that bad.
No need to sell the farm and start again.
Although I’d settle for a new coach
I’m not convinced Midtable Brad (or anyone at Essington) has actually returned from the break yet.
Off basking in the afterglow of our wildly successful season…
Without any communication from the club, from afar it’s difficult to understand what its strategy is… I know we’ve heard them say take early draft picks and add free agents. Apart from that you wouldn’t know what is going on out there in the Hangar bubble. It’d be nice to hear about some of their objectives and focusses are for the upcoming period.
This clubs leadership shirk responsibility and hide from accountability.
That is their contribution to the culture of the Essendon football club.
Worth repeating.
Worth noting too Richmond’s genesis from what we are now to what they become. What we want to become. Richmond looked closely at the psychological side of things straight off the bat, but it takes a looong time to unlearn bad habits. It’s just unfortunate that teams like Collingwood turned it around so quickly, but they where a fresh clean canvas rather than caveman scrawl so to speak.
I think we’ve drafted ok since the saga, maybe not brilliant but better than what we’ve given the club credit for, particularly with the development tools and budget at their disposal at that time. 2017 I thought we were into something and then suddenly… we had a plan set up around Joe and tippa, two key defenders hitting their peak, the S factor in ,stringer, sheil and every other horse with a fkn s in its name but the biggest change that fkd that all up was the instability and misdirection created at board and down to operational level created by Campbell, wellman and other non decision makers that have kept this club “grounded” (yes our emblem is a plane) by pushing out people that could see a way forward.
One of them posted here quite regularly.
The Essendon way, led by Essendon people, is to do simply fk all. It’s like my mother choosing a hat. The same colour, the same style. It’s just one for a new season.
That’s why there aren’t any Essendon people getting us out of this hole, and that was deliberate on Barhams behalf. And a key finding by the largely non Essendon people consulted to do a review.
But back to the evolution of the club, the stupidity of some demanding instant results without realising the task at hand is big footy blisteringly stupid. We probably are 2years into a 5 year plan. And the results have been instant. They just need to maintain the messaging and that consistency should come. It did with the Tigers and the road we’re on and the size of the job is uncanny
I just wish a balmey type was on hand to give input. He turned every club around that turned to him.
Gold!
But:
Electrician.
When was the last time you had to hire 5 plumbers to fix the same leak?! I’d suggest you were hiring cowboys and not plumbers…
Way to simplistic and off the mark.
Psychologists can help people learn to cope with stressful situations, overcome addictions, manage their chronic illnesses, and tests and assessments that can help diagnose a condition or tell more about the way a person thinks, feels, and behaves. These tests may evaluate intellectual skills, cognitive strengths and weaknesses, vocational aptitude and preference, personality characteristics, and neuropsychological functioning.
How they help
Practicing psychologists can help with a range of health problems and use an assortment of evidence-based treatments to help people improve their lives. Most commonly, they use therapy (often referred to as psychotherapy or talk therapy). There are many different styles of therapy, but the psychologist will work with the individual to identify the best approach to addresses the person’s problem and that fits the patient’s characteristics and preferences.
In essence, people are capable of learning and unlearning behaviours.
We are talking about adults generally speaking between 18-30 years old.
Fck me, if you you can’t help someone that young, you may as well give up.
Just juice us up to the eyeballs and win.
I find it interesting that the first season Brad was back to basics, from the training reporters it was basic skills and defensive position and actions. Second was about professionalism and starting to work on the mental side, reengineering some of the coaching and support staff, especially about fixing some of the real poor skills like kicking. Third we are now hearing is mental resilience, enhanced fitness again, better again on the support staff around medical and complete overhaul of the recruiting department.
I wonder if this is an accurate assessment from your perception @CJohns ?
Irrespective of what marketing speak that comes out of the clubs and brads mouth. To me that looks like a complete from beginning rebuild of the clubs football program.
Which means Brad knew just how damn bad it was when he arrived and is a massive indictment on Mr Burns, Maddern, X, Worsfold, Rutten and the litany of football manager we had in that period.
