Brad Scott - time for probing the probematic spelling (Part 2)

Yep, my takeaway from yesterday was definitely “thank god we didn’t get Ross Lyon”

They were never legitimately as bad as 17th.

They’ve been competing for finals and flags regularly for 20+ years.

They are everything we are not

Really goes back to the list the dud has compiled, time and time again we can see the list is not suited to playing finals footy yet this guy is too blind to see that.

It’s amazing how he has lasted this long in a job, couldn’t care less if he listens to others, we’re in a results-based industry. Our club just don’t have the balls to make tough decisions either on recruitment and which players to get rid of.

Post of the year so far. Nailed how I’m feeling too. We have no right to rock up to a practice match and give 60%. It’s total bullshit.

Do we call him this now or we still going with sidebum?

Saints are on the way up, their vanilla but hard at it squad of years past has now added some outside class, silvagni is a great recruiter imo. Also their assistant coaches are all quality.

Its how you build a squad, big bodied tough ‘footballers’, Essendon and gold coast went the other way and tried to build their squads off high ceiling athlete types. You need that strong core before adding the cream, Essendon did it the wrong way around and so did the suns, they looked garbage the other day too. Gws and saints built their list the right way with solid foundations first, now adding the more flashy types.

yeah, why would you want a coach who can transform a clubs culture and mentality based on hard work and solid effort as the cornerstones of your image, what an absolute let down that must be for saints fans

THIS ^^

This is the culture that X and Dyson oversaw.

A lassez-faire, she’ll be right mate, shakka-lakka, everyone gets a medal culture of passionless softness, passed on to everyone who walks into the joint.

That’s ok in under-10’s… maybe…

This is a national, professional farking competition though!!!

It’s going to take years of bathing in anti-softness sheep-dip to rid this club of it.

And yet he is contracted and will likely play most weeks…

Really? I Disagree.

Hobbs, Perkins, Durham, Martin and Menzie Played a tonne of games.

Caldwell and Draper aren’t young, but they both started last year with less than 50 games.

Tsatas and Cox started the year of injured, then in the VFL then got some AFL games, without great form.

Davey, Jones and Bryan got games but aren’t up to AFL level yet.

Yes, he should have played Voss for a couple games at the end of the year, and maybe Dambrosio and Baldwin could have played a few more games, but he definitely got a lot of games into the youth.

whos taking heppells position? kelly?

would voss have been worse than weid/jones?

we know barely anything more about the list this year to last year

I like everything Scott says, he seems methodical, measured, systematic. He’s exactly what the club needs.

But could you imagine being 20 year kid and listening to that? He seems like an excellent manager but maybe not a great coach? Does Gia inspire the boys?

Would you want to run through brick walls for him? It’s hardly inspiring stuff. Maybe he’s different behind the scenes, but I agree it’s got to come from the players. It’s got to come from blokes like Redman, Durham, Hobbs.

You’re posting.

We must have lost yesterday.

And he talks bull5hit.
He said that he wanted to get a good look at the list last year, he didn’t.
He said he wouldn’t play injured players, he does.
He said that he wanted to settle players in to their natural positions, he’s not.

I still don’t rate the Saints, they aren’t premiership quality and made us look VFL standard.

I’m not a fan of the measured approach.

It’s shows no spine, it’s a defensive approach incase things don’t go right. Come out and say we play footy for finals, our mission is to play finals this year.

Even if you don’t it should always be a goal and have the balls to say it in the public eye. Put the players on notice, make them accountable by them opening an account for ■■■■ sake.

I think he’s the coach the club needs for the next 3 years, this is a rebuild.

beyond that, when we’re potentially in the “window” it would probably be wise to find someone less risk adverse.

Martin right, across the HBF

How many coaches have ever won a flag at a second club without having tasted Premiership success at the first club. Blight, Malthouse…Choco?

Either way it’s stuff all…the odds are probably against Scott

Hardwick would have been fantastic but even he said we are a bunch of spuds
