And perhaps thereâs more method behind the McGrath as Vice appointment. McGrath shares more of the Heppell style, so itâs kind of a good cop/bad cop scenario. Zach will call you out and Andy will make you feel ok about it.
I donât like that idea at all tbh. If players need a mother figure to make them feel ok about being told the truth, then we are still an inherently soft club with no edge.

We are the softest team mentally in the AFL by far, mummyâs boys all of them.
Heppell is the nicest person perhaps in the AFL but we donât need nice we need anti sociable Hawks players back in their day whom cut down opposition on the park, with physicality, mental intimidation and skills
The old Hawks were such a confident team!
