Brad Scott - yeah, whatever (Part 3)

Move Martin forward and watch our forward efficiency double in an instant. Come on coach.

I don’t think Brad has heard of Young, refuses to play anyone within 50m of him

For me I don’t understand why Martin plays in the backline.

Hes one of our only players that has footy IQ, quick decision making and can kick goals - Why would you play him in the backline especially when our forward line is so dysfunctional?

Put the damaging players up forward !

If by any chance Brad you read this post, now you understand what it is like to play youth!!

It breaks momentum of the same old.

Sure kids will make mistakes but they give a good crack and sometimes like Caddy and like Roberts and I’m sure Hayes next week play well!!!

Make it happen Brad!!!

Weird how redman improved when Martin goes back to the forward line.

Almost like he has sulked the season away because of it

I think the call to hold Bryan and Roberts back until now was the right one. Both boys look like they’ve developed the confidence to compete at AFL level.

Martin is most damaging forward of centre.
Nik Cox isn’t a defender.
Laverde, Menzie shouldn’t be getting a game.
The selections of guys like Heppell, Goldstein, Menzie not only don’t win us games, they stifle development of younger guys.
Play Bryan and Roberts.

Why is this so obvious to us but not the coaches?

Did end up listening to the segment in full? I checked it out based on your comment. Hodge seemed pretty positive about the steps the club have taken.

He was on the panel that was told to choose Brad Scott you mean.

Was he wearing his glasses at the time though?

Agree. Saying he eviscerated us is a pretty inaccurate statement when the whole segment is taken in totality. Best anyone half interested actually listens to the whole 10 minute conversation.

The only person he really criticises is the unnamed source that suggested the club may still be impacted by the saga.

I agreed with what Hodge said.

But you interpreted it incorrectly.

Hodge said that anyone who still uses the saga as an excuse for our poor culture needs to be sacked…… as they are not driving this club forward.

Don’t Agree

Absolute this.
Team selection has crueled us of developing to the point of conforably qualifying and building capability to win a final.

For the most part we have been flogging a dead horse and it always or at least was always most likely to end up the way it did.

Unfortunately you never get to see what if, only what actually happened and hindsight is 20/20.
But in an alternative universe, if we had debuted some players earlier, we still may of fallen away at the end, may or may not have reached the heights that we did mid-year, but who knows we may have.

But in that alternate universe, would anyone have criticised us for not flogging the dead horse?
And would we as members and fans of OUR club, be disappointed with an alternate approach.

And we are not talking wholesale “play the kids” , just exactly what is going on now about 6-8 weeks earlier.
