The main thing he should be judged on is his ability to develop young talent. When he came to the club, the talent he had to work with 21yo and younger was Durham, Perkins, Cox, Reid, Hobbs, DâAmbrosio, Bryan, Tsatas, Jones, Baldwin, Davey x2, Lord, Voss, Menzie, Munkara and Hunter.
Iâd say only Durham has been the only unequivocal success. Perkins, Cox and Hobbs arguably have regressed and played better footy under Rutten. A few of them were not good enough. DâAmbrosio, Jones, Tsatas and Voss were mismanaged in my opinion.
I donât think he has a track record of developing young talent, and that is what we need most in our coach.
Richmond have performed miles above expectation this season. And besides, this is about EFC, I donât give a â â â â about whatâs happening at Richmond.
Scott has had three years to do something at our club, and weâre just as bad as ever. If you canât see that heâs not the right person for the job then youâre just as stupid as the people who appointed him.
You dont back in someone with a proven poor track record though.
Stupidest is hiring that person in the first place.
I see your point Nino, I really do, but we cant just back him in for the sake of it, he needs to actually be able to coach, and I dont believe Brad can.
Side note- i do wonder with so much in-experience if Brad would consider coaching from the ground. Just think a senior coaches voice and direction might be an option for short term.
