Brad made a prelim 3,721 days ago when Obama was still President, Tony Abbott had just be disposed of 2 weeks prior, ISIS was at its peak, the first Apple Watch was released, and Adele released her Hello song.
Yet his record is still better then Ruttenâs. Is Brad the best coach no but heâs the coach for right now is all im saying
If he does get the boot I hope he clips the club and we struggle to get any quality applicants we be left with the likes of Robert Harvey to pick from.
Bomber Thompson said it best Essendon donât let people from the outside try and change the club try to change them.
What are we up to now, 17 new draftees (w/ Fiorini & Prior) over the past 2 years? Which involved some actual forward-planning to attack the top end of this yearâs draft?
Heaps of exp out the door during that time as well (Heppell, Stringer, Kelly, Shiel, Goldy, Draper, Laverde, Hind, etc).
It may not be the more extreme list turnover some are after (and player availability/team selection will ultimately tell the tale) but clearly the strategy has been to bring in more quality youth - which only happens if the senior coach is on board/driving it IMO.
I agree with Nino about 1 thing and that is that Bradâs hands have been somewhat tied. Not necessarily by Dodoro and Sheedy, but moreso by the players themselves. Look at Merrett, he wants success now and threatens to leave if the club doesnât do what it can to achieve this. Brad should have come in with clear expectations day 1. We are rebuilding, if you donât want to be here we will find you a new club.
Imo the list Brad has right now is far different to the one he inherited when he first got appointed.
Would say three qrts of list has been turned over I think he should be given the chance with the next wave of players in guys like Caddy,Kako,Roberts,Robey,Sharp etc
The younger players donât seem to have any issues under Brads coaching
Agree. Favourite sons are the last thing we need. What we really need is a smart, single-minded, determined young coach whoâs shown he can lead and shown how to play in a winning grand final.
Thatâs what the Board did when they appointed a young Kevin Sheedy in 1981, and itâs what needs to be done now. Whether weâll get another Sheedy or not, who knows? But thatâs what we should be looking for.
I agree. Having said that, no coach comes in and immediately announces a hard rebuild. Richmond embraced it and were able to cause they were coming off 3 flags. Even then, it seemed to happen around Yze rather than him being the driver.
Some fans are wed to their position on Scott but next year the club will bear no resemblance on field and off to a few years ago.
True i remember Yze in his first press conference said that he can see the Tigers aiming for top 4 and wouldnât put a ceiling on what they can achieve
