Brad Scott - yeah, whatever (Part 4)

We are 4 years in. You are not going to get any “imagination” now.

He will back his favourite senior players in as he has done his whole coaching career. My best mate warned me about this 4 years ago when he was appointed.

Hard to disagree with this.

We desperately need a marking small forward. Someone like Ryan or Elliott who can be an aerial threat.

Which job would you rather have if your a senior coach in waiting or ex coach.

  1. Essendon who have been crap for 20 plus years you have to deal with club politics and a fan base who wants you sacked 3-4 years into the job or

  2. Coach of Tasmania where you have draft conceisons galore and a heap of money to sign up players also have the backing of the AFL and chance of winning a flag in 2-3 Years

Ken,Longmire etc aren’t stupid and will easily pick the second option.

Don’t think Welshy has hitched his wagon to Brad. Not at all.

He’ll pull the trigger if this same old rubbish becomes the norm again this season. And bewildering choices around where players are put etc. And Ill be happy when he does .. 4 years is enough for any coach to make a difference.

Keeping Merrett was more a statement, line in the sand type job too. He’ll let him go next season.

If they give Brad 6 years to get results the place will be burnt to the ground

100 percent cos Essendon are broken beyond repair- still doesn’t mean you want blokes that aren’t up to it in charge

I think your right Essendon is beyond repair.

Every day I spend as an Essendon fan I am more and more convinced of this

20 years of crapness is in the clubs dna will never change.

Be nice if the AFL could help us they helped Brisbane when they were farking crap and a bottom four side

One their big cash cow clubs in Essendon struggling and the AFL don’t give a fark

I’ve been big on using Durham like our version of Heeney, Brad on the other hand wants to use the worst contested mark we have in Merrett

I’m not sure about about ‘all time’.

We are pretty bad though.

Merrett was the worst. He’s been our best midfielder for nearly a decade. Why in the name of God would anyone play him at full forward? Just a plain dumb idea that played out exactly as could have been foreseen.

Not nearly enough people being thankful in this thread

Prior in the wing is and was always going to be a disaster. But the good news is he is only keeping the spot warm until Harry Jones comes back

Yes I heard this on the off-season from a physio who used to work with him at his former club. I won’t say anymore than that to protect identities, but he was very blunt when I told him who I supported, and his thoughts on Scott. My heart sank when he described how Scott creates a little clique and once in, you are sorted and can do what you want. If you are not, you are always looking over your shoulder - he said there is no common/even ground, which ruins any chance at club-wide camaraderie.

It’s clear as day. He’s backed in multiple players and it’s failed. Inversely he’s not backed players with ability, they’ve left and are in starting line ups at rival clubs.

He won’t be sacked this year.

Buckley will coach Tassie.

Longmire will coach Carlton after Voss is sacked.

We will be left with Hinkley or Goodwin…

Teflon Goodwin.

Ken wont be coaching us will be director of coaching as Tassie along side Buckley you watch.

AFL will pay him a bucket load of cash to have Ken move to Tassie

I reckon Simpson will take over Carlton and I’d be stoked if we ended up with Hinkley
