Brad Scott - yeah, whatever (Part 4)

I think he’ll see out his contract club wont sack him imo

I’d keep a handful of senior players and move the rest on. We keep allowing the same blokes that let you down time and time again to remain on our list. We have genuine list cloggers that should be cut on the spot

Zero chance he coaches next year if no signs of improvement or a game plan

Maybe.

Welsh said it’s going to be a tough year doesn’t sound like a club that’s putting heat on the coach

If we sacked Scott, presumably because he didn’t get this list to make finals, who would come on board to coach us? They’d see an expectation that does not match the ability.

You can hear it in recently departed coaches Simpson and Hinkley that they just don’t think we can be good yet.

Wot?

Its quite funny how you act like a holier than thou poster on here after spending years like the true nino we know

Over what period would you do it and how many and which ones?

There’s only a handful of senior players that have been on the list long enough to let us down time and time again.

I would have got rid of probably 4 or 5 more in the trade period.

Because we didn’t I think we have to do it this year and I’d think maybe 7 or 8 seniors need to be moved on

But did anyone want them?

I reckon we have exciting young players, but I don’t think they’re playing to a system that gets the best out of them - we’ve been boring to watch under Brads tenure.

In his fourth year, it’s reasonable to expect the coach to have an identifiable gameplan (as well as a settled view on who’s playing on the wing - this is really low bar stuff tbh).

I don’t care who the coach is, but I fear the longer Brad keeps repeating proven unsuccessful philosophies, the more harm it will do to youth development. Something has to change - hopefully this year it will.

I personally don’t see it, happy to be proven wrong.

Will see the season out but the tough draw from July will be the end of him, might win 1 of the last 7.

I would have taken the Merrett deal.

I would have also taken whatever I could have got for Ridley.

Putting Setterfield back on the list was an apalling decision by the club.

So that’s 3 players straight away that shouldn’t be on our list.

Could have taken a packet of plain Aldi chips for Guelfi and Gresham and paid some or all of their contracts to move them on

There that’s 5 gone from our list, then you move another 3 or 4 on at the end of this year

I’m no great footy mind, but I think our ‘boring’ game style is in part due to the emphasis on defence and minimising the easy transition goals that we became notorious for. I just don’t think we’ve had the cattle to play a run and gun game. Footskills and 2 way running have been below average, hence the slow and steady approach. Hopefully we can flnd a better balance as the new talent finds their feet.

In isolation, after a Geelong coach performance last night, some of you would sack Chris Scott.

Hardwick at Richmond. Bomber at Geelong. Them too.

We’ve had enough coaching changes.

Patience. You can’t include what has happened outside his tenure in the emotional baggage you’re leveraging, prior to bloody Round 1 !!!

The only thing that I agree with is that we’re giving opinions prior to round 1. As far as patience goes, I was 16 when we last won a premiership; I’m now 41 and have seen jack all since. Pretty sure we’ve all been committed and patient.

We’ve been, the club hasn’t.

I absolutely hated it from day dot

Completely agree with this post.

We could have Dovatson and potentially someone like Josh Lindsay on the list right now in place or Merrett (whos going to leave this year anyway) and Ridley (who is always injured)

We farked up big time keeping both of them.
