maybe Walt has change of heart and the machine gun purchase scene is him returning to free Jesse from the Nazis.
Just thinking about his phone conversation with Skyler, reckon he did his confession on the call knowing he was being taped and to help abscond her from culpability?
Did anyone else notice how Walt's phone call to Skyler was basically quotes from whiny posts on the I HATE SKYLER WHITE facebook pages?
Walt's final phone call was a masterful, ugly piece of work. There was an aspect to it that felt as if Gilligan and Walley-Beckett were performing the opposite of fan service. To hear Walt assail Skyler for all her shortcomings — her lack of appreciation, her meddling, her disdain, her disobedience — was fan shaming of the highest order. Walt was giving voice to those who've bombarded Skyler — and the remarkably poised actress who played the hell out of her, especially last night — for being the buzzkill in Walt's wacky misadventures. And it was terrible to hear. But this chillingly precise bit of writing functioned on multiple levels, and making Redditors feel bad was only the lesser of the three.
Some people can't differentiate reality from fiction.
It's why I so desperately want to punch the kid that plays Joffrey. He just looks like a c**t.
I know in some instances you want it to be more realistic (like the shoot out a few of us were complaining about last week) but gee whiz, that was more of a criticism of the writers/directors more than anything.
Although this week it was more clear as the first scene (after the flashback) you see Gomez already dead and Hank severly wounded in the leg.
Apparently the guy who played Abu Nazir (?) the terrorist in Homeland, has rednecks coming up to him in the street and threatening him so regularly that he got a bodyguard.
Saw this episode described as "The Red Wedding stretched out for an hour". Accurate.
Baby Holly is a better actor than most adults.
Has a better facial range then what Todd does.
Todd only has 'confused-squinty'
I reckon he plays that part well. He's just a heartless lost mental case, sees what old Uncle Jack does and goes "Meh, yeh I'll do that". Like last night when they've flogged the crap out of Jesse, sees Jesse realise they know his woman and her kid, then just says "Lets Cook!".
WEIRDO.
Yeah, I reckon he's a great actor (never seen FNL). He's SUPPOSED to be blank and emotionless. He's just a total psychopath. The way he combines a willingness to do anything to hurt anyone with his unfailingly charming manners and etiquette is beyond creepy.

Does anyone think it is weird that people need to abuse the character personally? I mean, apparently this lady received death threats?
Rape threats too. Not that these people have any obvious issues with women or anything, no sir. It's funny how many people say things like "oh, I don't have problems with women, just with THAT woman". And yet these people always seem to have problems with "that woman", no matter who that woman is. The actresses who play Betty Draper, Carmela Soprano and Corinne Mackey cop exactly the same crap from these idiots.
The flashback scene at the start of the episode (with Walt calling Skyler) was actually the final scene that they shot for the entire series. Talk about going full circle.
As for some of the theories people are throwing up here; I think some of you should watch the show more closely.
When asked a couple months back if the show ended the way he wanted it to, he said "It ended the way Vince (Gilligan) wanted it to". My take on that is that it is going to a dark ending, and as people have alluded to already, see Walt end up alone with no family, just a barrel of money and dying of cancer.

Has he killed his family or they have just left him (or he is in hiding). Not sure what I am hoping for here.

Just to clarify, that quote was from Bryan Cranston.
My gut feel is that Skyler and Breakfast are going to bite the dust. And Jesse will either face the same fate or end up confined in his current state - chained up to cook meth forever.
As for some people's reading into the phone call between Walt and Skyler, I thought it was crystal clear that he absconding her from any wrongdoing. And that he, whilst angry, could hardly hold himself together on the phone sobbing and crying as he knew things have irreversibly changed for the worse, that he will never have his family together again.
How is he talking to Sol if he has "disappeared" no turning back?
hmm what's to stop him seeing someone he knows just because he's changed his identity?
Because Saul said once that the call has been made, thats it. No turning back. Move on.
yeah i took that to mean you change your identity permanently, not that you cant go somewhere.. that implies someones watching you forever to make sure you don't go back.
Walt ends up buying a vacuum cleaner and disappearing to New Hampshire? Maybe the flashforward was him being forced to come back to finish business. He was after the ricin after all. Although I can't see why he can't just make more?
The phone call reminded me of the first time he went into Hank's office and blubbered about Skyler thinking he was a bad influence....and then put a bug in the office when Hank left. Which is to say that he had an ulterior motive, but there was a lot of truth (from his POV anyway) being told too. And yes, I loved it how Walt's abuse sounded exactly like some of the misogynist, knuckle dragging mooks who think Skyler is the devil.
The call didn’t make sense and changed direction multiple times in the one conversation. It is one of the few failings of the series but I can live wit it. Just was poorly scripted and equally poorly executed.
