Bushfires

What a delightful human being.

Mate who is on farm near Alex had stock survive on the small proportion of land that is river flat where the grass was still a bit green and so mostly didn’t burn. So very lucky.

But he says where the Longwood fire did cross the river into the Black Range NW of Taggerty, the 4 choppers that have been bombing it are not making a dent in what is still a big fire/fires. If that creeps south it is relatively close to pines as well as the continuous dense euc forest it is already in. The pines run in big patches north to south all the way past Buxton to Narbethong, so that whole area could be at high risk if a big northerly gets back up.

Really need big rain.

Such a surprise to see a grown person who dresses up like they do to go to a game of football be so unhinged.

Catman ‘apologises’ - sort of…

Only sorry because someone called out his ■■■■■■ behaviour

And abusive of the person who called him out.

Well I’m in complete agreement with him, when he called himself a POS.

What a flog, maybe next time they might let his house burn down. Fark him. Ungrateful ■■■■!

As noted in the rain thread, there’s at least some relief with moisture in some of the fire areas.

Won’t put all active fronts out, but hopefully may allow the CFA to focus on smaller stubborn areas, and add some moisture to reduce intensity when stuff does burn.

Still far from over, with fires still burning tho.

Another devastating week for our wildlife with not just the bushfires but the extreme heat.

Brimbank Park wouldn’t have been on anyones radar except from those volunteers/locals in the know.

The footage is distressing.

That speed is pretty frightening. Grass fires are going to be very different to bushfires, but still.

Refreshing to read some straight, well-researched, honest to goodness journalism, too.

Be safe anyone near the Otways and Bellarine..

Looking very bad over the next few days, they won’t be able to get it under control before it hits 45 tomorrow

I wish safety for everyone in those areas and that they leave now before it’s too late. No house is worth a life.

Big thanks to the CFA vols who are out there today and gearing up for a huge next few days

These people really deserve a hell of a lot more recognition than they get, you don’t really think about it until you see pics and vids of what they actually have to face.

Local radio basically telling everyone in the area to GTFO NOW don’t wait until it’s too late. @bomber1408 is down there I think. RUOK?
