Donât forget this gentleman.
Another actor who pretty much killed it in everything.
Backdraft.*
He was excellent in The Hunger Games.
Always had this look when he smiled that suggested he knew more than he was letting on.
*When you steal a scene from De Niro, you know youâre prettyâŚpretty good.
One of the scariest scenes ever in Donât Look Now, although he did do an extended sex scene with Julie Christie, so thereâs pluses and minuses.
Fully agree. Outstanding film all round.
I rewatched that recently and it wasnât as good as I remembered.
One of that list of films Iâll never rewatch.
Clockwork Orange is another.
You, your children, and your childrenâs children.
FOR THREE MONTHS!
Uh, yeah.
Speaking of Sutherland monologues reminds me of my favourite movie he appeared in, a little known gem titled âLittle Murders.â He stars with Elliot Gould and plays the role of an existential marriage celebrant with a hugely funny wedding monologue. The movie is based on a play by Jules Shaffer. As others have said, a consummate actor who enhanced any role and every production he has in, and always worth watching. RIP the Donald.
There was a preview of Julie Christieâs contours in Darling. She thanked Schlesinger for the opportunity , calling him her Darling when she won the Oscar.
DRUMGOOLE
SBS Viceland have slotted in Invasion of the Body Snatchers at 9:30 tonight.
Body Snatchers is soooo good.
Ive never seen the original (50s maybe), but the 70s one is a fucken classic.
His role in JFK was great aswell. Yeah, its an invented character made purely to move the plot forward, but its a movie i can definitely rewatch. Its a master class in tension building.
I have seen the original which I really liked, never seen the Sutherland one
Sutherland was such a great versatile actor. Could play great good guys or the worst scumbags you have ever seen
Frank Duckworth of Duckworth-Lewis fame has passed away.
Just have to work through a complicated formula to set his funeral date
It would only be right if itâs intermittently raining on the day of his funeral.
