and Frank Farianâs âgroupsâ had a pretty discernable impact on a couple of musical eras, ( if for possibly the wrong reasons in one case). I think he qualifies to make the cut.

Actual celebrities that have kicked the bucket 
Singer Melanie, whose songs include Brand New Key and Lay Down (Candles in the Rain), has died. She was 76.
Melanie was just 22 years old when she performed to hundreds of thousands of people at the Woodstock music festival in 1969.

She was at the Folk Festival a couple of years ago.
She was saying that some US censors banned Brand New Key because they it encouraged promiscuity.
