The royal family has announced that the Duchess of Kent has passed away, aged 92, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

Katharine, Duchess of Kent, the wife of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, was the oldest living member of the royal family since Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022.

Some good stuff in the article:
She was born in 1993 in Hovingham Hall in North Yorkshire, and is the descendant of Oliver Cromwell.
Image in case they fix it.

One half of Flo and Eddie and also a Mother of Invention.

And may the remainder of his wretched, evil lineage speed to the grave alongside her.

I like the guys from the Restoration who dug up his corpse and executed him again.

Would have been celebrated in Drogheda

A pretty monumental one if you are into ice hockey.

This will surely make it in to the next season of “Shoresy".

Sad day for you @swoodley

Not entirely my cuppa (way too much sax), but can’t deny they had some tunes…
RIP…

Oh sorry to hear about that.

Generally Roger Hodgson had the better songs in that band, but Bloody Well Right and Goodbye Stranger are huge.

Shame the two of them never got on that well.

The end of this tune is just nuts…. happy to find a good live version of it as I’ve always wondered how they would pull it off.

Geez, that best of tape got a hammering back in the day.
Crime of the Century was a great track, too.

Sad loss and a great band. Rodger Hodson wrote the more pop focused songs, Rick Davies was more influenced by the blues but both great songwriters. Rick Davies was an outstanding keyboard player. Their musical differences were too big and it also turned into a fair dislike between the two. Rick Davies kept playing under the Supertramp name but when they started playing Rodger Hodsons songs it got a bit ugly. One of the few bands not to reform for a superannuation tour.

Really sad and unfair. Heard her in a few interviews talking about her struggles. Brave.

  1. So sad.

RIP Danny Kirwan, late of Fleetwood Mac. He was in the band when they transitioned from the Blues led by Peter Green to the California Gold of Steveie Nicks. He was also responsible for writing many of their most melodic songs. His solo albums after he left the Mac were very disappointing, and had little in the way of melody.

While I agree his passing was sad CJ, massive fan of the Peter Green Fleetwood Mac era, he died in 2018.
