Evidently Japanese golfer Jumbo Ozaki died , he was quite a drawcard in the early eighties
The worst piece of commentary I ever heard involved Jumbo.
He missed a very makeable put, the comment was “The greens here at (can’t recall which course) can cause trouble with their slopes, and that one has given Jumbo a nasty nip”.
A drawcard in the early 80s is massively understating it. Last played the Masters in 2000, Money list leader in Japan 12 times between 73 and 98.
The Bridgestone Js Professional Weapon may also have changed golf forever. Jumbos driver, was one of the first super low spin drivers that went for miles. He teed it massively high (his tees were very unusual at the time) and just smashed it with super low spin. 30+ years later that is the formula for every driver in the professional game, but at the time it was revolutionary
Hans Gruber has died. Fell from Nakatomi Plaza. ![]()
Nick was the hardest working Senator in my experience. He threw himself into every role and wanted to change the world . In his Ministerial roles made impacts, unlike most.
Oh dear.
I’m in the middle of a big Cure run at the moment, and had Wish on only yesterday. RIP.

Watched the “Show of a Lost World” movie a couple of weeks ago at the Kino cinema, which was apparently his last performance.
Madame Bardot had a fantastic “body of work” back in the day.
Including some collaborations with Serge Gainsbourg - Bonnie et Clyde, and Comic Strip. (Edit: and the original version of Je t’aime … moi non plus, but asked Gainsbourg to re-record so as to make their affair slightly less obvious, so Jane Birkin is on the one that got airplay, well when not banned anyway.)
One of the most beautiful women to ever grace the planet. 91 is a good innings.
Ooh la la!
She was also a horrible ■■■■■■■ person.
Those with few principles like me cannot see anything but beauty.
