Very sad. He was a really good supporting cast guy. SMG a far better actor, but sheâs better than most and thatâs hardly a criticism. He had some serious comic timing when he was on, and every so often he got to pull out some surprising drama chops too, even though as a fourth banana he didnât always get much good material.
Didnât ever seem to move on once Buffy was cancelled, made a mess of his life and lots of others got caught in the splatter range. Had some rough experiences as a kid and in his youth, went almost straight into fame, struggled, then struggled more when the fame went away. I donât think he made many peoplesâ lives better in recent years, but Xander was such an iconic role of that era.

Mike Melvill passed away March 19, 2026 (my sonâs birthday). Mike was a South African-born American world-record-breaking pilot and one of the test pilots for Burt Rutanâs SpaceShipOne. He was one of the finest stick and rudder pilots ever. Mike piloted SpaceShipOne on its first flight into space on June 21, 2004 thus becoming the FIRST Commercial astronaut, and the 435th person to go into space. I was there cheering him on. He was also the pilot on SpaceShipOneâs competitive flight to win the Ansari competition.
Mike built the first Rutan Vari Viggen and was the first builder of a plans Rutan Long EZ aircraft. The same aircraft I built.
Mike was an Aviation Legend. He was a gentleman. He was my hero.
My condolences to wife Sally and his family.

The only difference being- and its a big one- we are just nameless individuals on a website. And we are not being held to a higher standard, for better or worse.
The President of the United States used his official communications channel to trash the memory of a genuine military hero, who was only ever doing his job for his country.
And I was a pretty big fan of Chuck, even if I didnât align with his later politics.

How apt that Quark supports Trumpist people.
Chuck Norris was an entertainer and a strong vocal and public Trump supporter who pushed his Christian beliefs strongly and gun rights even more strongly. He is open for criticism and his death changes nothing.
I hope you maintain this position when a prominent figure on the left is disparaged after biting the dust.
Itâs also interesting that you chose not to mention Norrisâs philanthropic contributions. He seemed like a pretty generous and humble bloke to me.
