I donā€™t know if he counts as a celebrity but Iā€™m gutted to see Bruce Dawe died. His poem Life Cycle about AFL (or VFL) is absolutely brilliant.

He quit the music biz way back in 1985 because he didnā€™t like what his record company were trying to turn him into. Respect.

The great New Orleans pianist and educator Ellis Marsalis Jr. died on April 1 as a result of COVID-19. He was 85. Here he is playing with four of his sons at Jazzfest on April 28 last year:

Far out, this thing has been brutal for ageing legends in the US.

Sad to hear, wonderful muso, has left a great family legacy to keep going and going.
