Phil May from 60s UK band The Pretty Things has checked out at age 75. Can’t help but fear that a lot of musos from this era won’t be with us for much longer, particularly given the lifestyle that most led.

75 for a guy who downed what he did is pretty decent. Most of them have lived normal lifespans which is amazing when you stop and think about it.

I rarely post in here, but Mr Willard deserves it.

A massive favourite in the Doe household. Loved him in Best in Show, A Mighty Wind.

His scenes stole those movies. So so funny.

Or maybe what they did wasn’t as nasty and damaging as we are taught to believe.

Don’t forget the army base sequence in Spinal Tap.

Genius. I feel like heading to the Ramada Inn in Kansas City to see Four Jacks and a Jill.

Some survive to a decent age. Many , many don’t. Not sure there’s a rhyme or reason to it. Bon dies on the back seat of a Renault, Keith functions as a human drug trial, lol.

Well I probably fall somewhere in-between those two and I’m still here, and that’s all that really matters.

Go me!!!

RIP Lynn Shelton. Shelton was one of the most exciting female filmmakers going around. She was involved in the Indie filmmaking revolution known as Mumblecore, that uncovered great talents like Greta Gerwig and the Duplass Brothers.

Her film Humpday is an Indie classic.

Regular listeners to WTF with Marc Maron will know Lynn was his partner. He has recorded an emotional tribute to her and replayed the podcast where they first met in 2015.
