May have been Alan Ramsey, his drinking mate in Canberra ( who also recently died). Ramsey called a PM a turd, editors made him change it to toad .
Mungo was also attributed with the line about Sonia McMahon as Snow White being accompanied by one dwarf at a function, but Philip Adams says he coined it first, when Sonia was accompanied by Billy and Nugget Coombs.
Kerry OâBrien has a eulogy in the Monthly.
Very saddened by this, he was one of my idols as a kid and one who I wished I could have seen play live. Unfortunately he had finished up a few years before I went to my first Serie A game.
One of the greatest players Italy has produced and an icon of the game
RIP Pablito
My Nonno often talks about the 1982 WC and tells me about Paolo Rossi and how he dominated that tournament after the group stages
Very sad day to lose such an icon
I grew up in a very Italian area and despite being a young kid I remember it vividly. All the neighbours had huge parties
Back then the second round was a group stage aswell and Italy had to beat Brazil in the last game to go through to the semis. Italy won 3-2 with Rossi scoring all 3, then in the Semis against Poland he scored both goals in a 2-0 win before scoring the opening goal in the final. So he scored 6 straight goals for Italy which won him the Golden Boot and Golden Ball (still one of only 3 players to have won the big 3 in a WC)
Oh wow, devastating news. A legend
So sad, RIP Paolo, that 82 cup winning squad led by Zoff and Baresi, brilliant.
OMG, I just heard the news about Rossi. A true legend of Azzurra. RIP Paolo
The partying in Lygon Street that week. I doubt that anyone with a family name ending in o or i did any work.
Barbara Windsor passed away. Used to love watching the âCarry Onâ movies with my grandparents.
Was married to one of the Kray twins IIRC.
The epitome of a pneumatic blonde.
More attributes to go from gangsterâs moll to a career in comedy on the big and small screens.
Never married them. Had a one nighter with one, and longer fling with the other. She wasnât very bright.
The Wide Boys from the East End used to haunt the priceynWest End hospitality venues , flaunting themselves with at least one blonde bimbo apiece - breaking down the English class barriers, Barbara featured in a few of the photos.
Was she the one who would often mention her p*ssy?
That was Mrs Slocombe from Are you being served. I remember watching all these politically incorrect shows growing up. An the Buses, Love thy neighbour, Benny Hill ShowâŚ
Thatâs right. Are You Being Served? One of the all-time great opening themes.
Just a great show all round
Nah, the little busty blonde whose bra would âaccidentallyâ fall off quite a lot.
