Hush, child. Probably a spotty-faced adolescent who wrote the broken forum code.
Right on the first part ,but i have heaps of C90`s with mixes and other stuff on them. 45 minutes per side on a cassette. Sony or TDK was my choice to record on .
I have never heard of the bloke , but thank him for my entertainment due to his invention over the years.
Sony always felt a bit cheap to me.
TDK or BASF.
Whatever was on-sale at JB Hi FI would do me just fine
Hmmm. I forgot Scotch and Maxell.
Mmmnnnn, Maxell.
Brands like it and BASF, TDK you just don’t hear of anymore
Maybe some nerd could tell me which is the best one.
Any nerd at all, really. Not thinking of anyone specific.
Surely Brash’s.
Maxell still make batteries, they’ve cornered the market on those ones that would fit into a Nintendo game & watch.
Anyone, really? I was totally thinking @theDJR.
Also, now I have the TDK ad jingle stuck in my head. Thanks, you lot.
I definitely was not in any way thinking solely of DJR.
mnbt
You looked smart till you did that disclaimer.
Come ooooon.
Do the thing.
With the reading of data.
I have a whole bunch of old 8-track Portastudio multi-track recordings on cassette, which I’ve slowly been digitising. I used a mix of TDK and BASF chrome cassettes.
The BASF ones still sound nearly as good as when they were recorded 25 years ago.
The TDK ones on the other hand… dropouts, loss of top and bottom end fidelity, flutter and wow.
Does it do amazing things? To your system?
Which is `pretty much what wims data thing implies. (In all 3 types , Ferro, Chrome & Metal)
TDK put all their cash into advertising and very little into creating quality.
We were all sucked in for a year or so as younguns,… didn’t take long to work it out and never buy them again though.
That’s why we still remember the jingle for TDK tapes only, … but not the music we put on their tapes anymore.`
No, but I just drank a Kirks Creaming Soda, so who knows what the future may hold?
Jack, you are denying yourself many great movies. To name a few, Caberet, Singing in the Rain, An American in Paris, Fiddler on the Roof, Gypsy. Easter Parade. I could go on and on.
