I enjoyed the antics of both.

No. I pretty much only watch sport with the occasional history, comedy or travel show. Don’t watch soaps and have never seen a single H&A, Neighbours etc and don’t watch any of the US stuff apart from comedy
Is there such a thing as US comedy?
I love Seinfeld and animated stuff The Simpsons, Family Guy
Is there such a thing as US comedy?
It’s been on 24/7 for the last decade
And 99% of it is as funny as testicular cancer…
This is a big surprise, something of a shock really. I have sent this link to a friend who knows him, as she had not heard this news. I saw Carson and The Dingoes when times back in my college days, and even have a photo of Brod Smith in action at one of the early music festivals, Murwallah, on the Murray. At one stage l vied for the affection of a girl with the drummer from The Dingoes, of course that was a hopeless cause, but a story for another day. Brod was a great musician, this is a sad day.
I was just a fraction young for The Dingoes. As a kid he seemed to be one of those older guys who’d had an earlier career (that us kids were unaware of) and would turn up occasionally on Countdown but never quite crack the mainstream. A bit like Peter Cupples or Kevin Borich.
I do remember his name being regularly read out on 3XY’s gig guide when he had Broderick Smith’s Big Combo. His Christian name was the source of mirth to us kids… thinking back, I’ve no idea why…
I did not know until reading the obits that he was the father of Ambrose Kenny-Smith of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Murwallah, on the Murray.
Reckon you mean Mulwala. Had a lot of fun up there back in the day !!
I reckon you are right on the spelling. Also from the same festival l have a picture of Stephen Stills who was there with his new band Manassas featuring ex-Byrd Chris Hillman, as well as a picture of Bob Hite with his band Canned Heat. Stills skin on stage was a deathly white colour, the whitest skin l have ever seen on anyone, he was almost translucent, and the word was he was heavily smacked out. The festival was hosted by Gerry Humphries of the The Loved Ones, and he was brilliant.
I remember him well. He played a lot of gigs at and around Melbourne Uni when I was there. He had a great rock voice. You’re right @Baakkeerrrr, he never quite made the mainstream, but he was always around. 75 is young these days.
1972 and we followed Canned Heat around the country. Mulwala was about the best best local music festival I went in Oz. Sunbury was good, but Mulwala was just wild, and the music was so good.
One of my earlier and cherished albums. Broderick Smith spoke to many of us.

Sheesh, Masterchef was supposed to start tonight, I think.
Yes it is. I love that show. Complete shock. The show has been pulled for this week.
Yeah. That’s crazy. So young. My favourite show
Holey moley… that’s really sad. Trying not to jump to any conclusions… RIP.
You never like to read of someone’s death, but especially so when it’s someone younger than you…
