Never understand why that twit posts in this thread… He has an assumption that if he hasn’t heard of the person no one else has either.
Bill Granger is a very prominent name in cooking circles and anyone who watches cooking shows would know who he is.

100% agree with your post.
You need to calm down. I asked who he was as I have never heard of him and was interested to understand what he actually achieved during his life.
My family have been dealing with our own Christmas bereavement so I’m only just catching up with the news.
I have Bill Granger’s books and cook from them often ~ this is sad news.
I do wish death would bugger off!

He also has a bunch of very well known cafes to his name. Bill’s is one of the better western brunches in Tokyo / Yokohama.
Bill was considered the God father of the smashed avo.

We have one in Osaka too but I haven’t yet tried it due to mixed reviews. But that’s mostly about price and service, the food itself seems to be good.
Are there any restaurants post-covid that have decent service any more? I don’t eat out regularly, but when I do the service across the board is dire.

Tom Wilkinson, the British actor best known for his roles in The Full Monty, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and Batman Begins, has “died suddenly” at the age of 75.
He passed away on Saturday in the company of his wife and family, a statement obtained by the BBC revealed.
His death was not expected.
“It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announce that he died suddenly at home on December 30. His wife and family were with him,” the message, shared by his agent on behalf of his family, said.
“The family asks for privacy at this time.”

A quintessential British character actor, whose best trait was being able to fit into any character he was cast as and then fit into any scene he was directed to. He was all class.
