CEO - Xavier "Drive Purposeful Innovation" Campbell — well… bye!

Give it 'ya, obviously.

Well …actually …he did replace the Footy Manager at the end of 2017, I think it was labeled as a ‘mutual decision’ at the time but we all know what that means in reality.

Didn’t we read that he then ran the footy department himself for several months at the end of that season after moving Rob Kerr on and before appointing Dan Richardson too?

If you recall we played our first final for a few years at the end of 2017 and were a young team on the up and up, how have things gone since then?

And I’m not a Woosha basher, but he did also extend the coach for was it 3 years before the start of the season last year?

If you don’t think the CEO is heavily involved in leadership of the footy program you’re very much wrong IMO

As far as on-field performance the CEOs job should be contained to; properly financing the football department, making sure the right people are in the right roles and then setting bench marks/goals/targets/expectation that should be met.

AFL stats only include members with match day access.

Leadership, sure
He appoints the coach, footy dept manager etc.
If they do a ■■■■ job, he fires them.
That’s it. That’s all.

They publish total membership revenue.
It’s going north too.

Sure.
he has record memberships and record sponsorships.

And if they severely dipped, things would change.
That’s how the world works.

i think we should socialise this a little further

This is why it pays to check things before going on a castigating rant.

Personally, I thought Rob Kerr was doing a great job

3 and 1 game memberships have ruined any value of x,000’s of members. It’s just one big ■■■■ meauring contest between clubs now, of what size of mailing lists they can provide to sponsors.

He had the tough, seasoned edge to him that we seem to have too little of in our footy club.

They should make it Total Number of Games bought. That would give a better idea.

So have most of the other clubs in Melb, in line with Melbourne’s increased population, increase in average wage/disposable income, less games on free to air etc.

We could sell out Marvel if the team were travelling well… the club is strong mainly because of the Sheedy years and because the AFL is strong, not because of anything material the various boards and exec have done over the last 15 years.

Interesting as a back up statistic, but could still be misleading. Clubs would probably thrown in a bunch of interstate seats in your membership. Maybe a better test is just membership revenue.

Revenue is the one that matters

There was a year St Kilda were selling full home seated memberships for about $130. Must’ve been cost price.

The A Mart deal is reportedly a record for the whole league, not just us.
But whatever. You don’t rate him, Sheedy, mabo, the vibe!

An even better idea would be a points system based on games attended over the years for better access to finals tickets and ultimately, should we make one, Grand Final tickets.

I still think you miss the point. There is blatent padding going on. 1 or 3 game memberships have been created for this purpose. Does any club provide breakdowns of the ‘types’ or memberships sold? You’ll probably find a stagnation in 12 or18 game memberships.
