Think he stays if we make top 4 and still play CL.
Arsenal have an amazing knack of getting decent draws in cup competitions don’t they ![]()
Some kid born in 2010… came on for Bayern
They did finish on top of the table though, so doesn’t that give them th benefit of playing the ‘lower” teams in the knockout stages?
Didnt help us last season when we dicked the entire league stage then went out.
The cream is rising now. Big guns all through in emphatic fashion, goals galore. A real “what if?” for Spurs, more than matched Atleti across the tie after the disastrous first 15 farce, and dare I say found some mojo. I’m all aboard Team Kane now.
A bit early with that crow! The 20 mins to start the second half was vintage Salah.
Arsenal win 1-0 at Sporting and should cruise through
Bayern beat Real Madrid 2-1 on the road which sets up a cracking second leg
Switching between the two games it was like watching 2 different comps.
Bayern v Real would have made a pretty decent final
Arsenal will give Sporting a chance in the 2nd leg. Because of the cowardly way Artera sets them up and his own mentality, they’ll play for the 0-0 at The Emirates.
I just don’t understand why he does it. In the first half of this season we were playing hard, attacking football and racking up win after win by multiple goal margins. We still have the best goal difference by a considerable margin. We were doing the same in the other comps, especially the Champions League.
Then about Christmas time the switch flicked. Bold, quick attack turned to dull, plodding defence. The wins continued, but were ground out with late goals from set pieces. Opposition teams scored against us with fast breakaways while our players were flat-footed.
Everyone has seen it, but nobody can understand why. Obviously it comes from Arteta, but why has he changed his approach? Nobody has suggested a reason. I certainly can’t understand it.
We are very drab to watch though Ive accepted this is how we will be for the rest of the season.
Most top sides this season we have come up against away we have struggled so the 1-0 away win against a Sporting side that had won 17 consecutive matches at home (ironically the number of consecutive Essendon losses) is a huge, professional result.
Defence will be the only way we win the champions league this season, and if we drew Barca next I suspect we will struggle.
Well I disagree. The best form of defence is attack. It’s like Brad saying we have to absorb pressure. Rubbish. The only way to beat pressure is by applying greater pressure to the opposition. If Arsenal are scoring goals against Sporting, it will be Sporting who are worrying, not Arsenal.
Youve misunderstood, I would love to play more attacking but we wont this season and Ive accepted that. Youve seen for months exactly how we will play, slow build up and grinding teams down.
I called for the handbrake to be released months ago but know that it wont be changing this season.
Might be enough for the league but the attacking teams in the champions league I suspect will be able to put enough past us to beat us. If they dont…well then we are obviously a punchers chance if you get to a semi final.
