Changes for 2021 Dreamtime V Tigers

My original post which you replied to was specific to pressure.

That is an error of judgement bordering on arrogance, giving us a significant if minor advantage.

Ok, my original point was they didn’t allow us to play our game for a fair portion of that match. Whether that’s pressure/structure

I think it’s because they’re allowed more freedom in Sydney.

We beat the deadline to get to Perth and just have to test negative. I think if Richmond goes now, they’re limited on what they can do.

Still an advantage for us.

On this - I mentioned upthread that I’d be keen for a ruck combo of Phillips and Bryan.

Wondering if, because we won’t have VFL, if Draper could return with Phillips to share the load?

Can’t predict if lockdown will be finished or not. have to play the cards you are dealt. Good deduction IMO.

It’s actually not so bad for us. We don’t play Richmond at the MCG.

We’re already at Optus. They need to travel to us.

And then we have a bye followed by the Hawks.

Richmond will need to stay in Perth because they have the bye and then play the Eagles there.

It’s okay for us right now.

The biggest advantage for us is having an extra day break, playing on the same ground we just won at.

Out: BZT
In: Francis

Maybe Zaka & Ham to swap as subs.

Interesting to see whether we look to someone like Ambrose, depending on how Jones pulls up. A real shame that Wright is unavailable.

Zaharakis needs to make way for one of Cahill/Ham

Been a great servant but let’s see what these kids have

Like Guelfi, honest footballer, bit of mongrel and just enough flash. Zaka got to go, looks off the pace and doesn’t do the team things. Happy with Ham but want to keep Jones in, he just keeps doing all the right things.

Not sure we can play Draper and Phillips.

Neither is a good forward.

Did Draper even travel to WA? Is he allowed to join now?

Phillips can rest forward. Pretty reliable shot at goal & strong mark.

I only see Ham coming in for Zaha, maybe Cahill but you’d have to assume it’s Ham on the precipice if he’s sub.

It feels really wrong to drop BZT, Waterman or Phillips. Not sure how they get Francis/Draper in the side.

By dropping BZT and Phillips (though I think Phillips will play this week)

Zerk stays played ok

Have to agree. BZT did a decent job. Put his body on the line and there were a lot of moments from him out of pure desperation to defend that I liked.

Phillips has been a workhorse too.

We can’t go in with just him and not a genuine second ruck though.

Agreed!

Zerk played a good game, loved his run down to effect the kick not that slow after all

How do we get a 2nd Ruck into the side that played last night ?
We honestly can’t go in with 1 less running player against Richmond.

If Zaka drops back to SUB (and I think he should) then Ham needs to come in.
Cahill needs to continue his education playing midfield minutes in the VFL for the time being, so putting him in the Seniors won’t help.
Ham’s leg speed against the Tigers more important.

Therefore, it’s Draper in for 1 of Hooker, Jones, or Waterman.
Now the first 2 were good contributors last night, and the Bye is only 1 more game away if they need “managing”.
Waterman was okay and arguable we are too tall if he comes out for a Ruckman.

Man, it’s a tough call.
Perhaps it’s Waterman dropping into the SUB role (not ideal) in order to give Phillips some help in the Ruck.
Let’s not discount Bryan as an option either.
He may match up well on Chol in the Ruck.

The Francis for Zerk decision is not an easy one to add to this.

I really hope a call for demotion of CHUNGUS to SUB is not considered an infraction ?

Do we know if Francis will be available to come straight back in?

All speculation. No idea of what the illness was :woman_shrugging:t2:
