They included a proper ruck into the team so that Wright doesn’t have to play full time. He’s perfectly fine as a backup.

Why do you think we’re dropping Jones? From what Truck said, it sounds like he’ll be playing.
I mentioned after the Geelong pre-season game that Snelling was one of the main guys setting up our defensive structures. He’s a loud voice and shows some pretty good leadership. My guess is that those intangible qualities are why he’s getting picked each week. (Also the tackling).

I think the coaches are picking him because he’s a strong leader in a young side.
however if we lose, then their new president signs him on for two more years for “stability” or some sht

I understand your point, just don’t agree with it.
In saying that, we don’t have a better option to play that role at the moment, so he stays in the team.

That’s not Snelling’s role though. He is in the side as a pressure forward to either lock the ball in, or create a turnover.
If you don’t have a bone fide point of difference as a player (like the stars do), you need to play a role for the team to allow the star players to be more impactful. Snelling is brilliant at what he is being asked to do and the team is better for it.
