He probably could play, and if one of our mids is a late withdrawal he will play. But his hand is still probably a bit sore and slightly swollen so an extra week off is better.
It makes perfect sense, if he played an re injured it then people would be screaming mismanagement. Can’t win with some Blitzers.
You guys are inventing excuses
If he’s in danger of reinjuring it, why is he emergency? Parish isn’t on the emergency list.
Your spine is probably more debilitating and threatening to a career than a broken hand is.
So then why is he an emergency?
If his hand isn’t healed to perfection, he shouldn’t play and shouldn’t be an emergency
Because he traveled with the team. Isn’t parish getting minutes with the vfl practice match?
I don’t assume that just because he is named emergency then he must be 100% fit to play. There are other emergencies
Tsatas is an attacking ball magnet mid, not much different in effect to Parish.
Against Melbourne we clearly need a defensive mid, I see Setterfield as the defensive mid we need in one of our rotations, and Hobbs the other. As to warm up injury insurance yep I guess he is break glass spare.
I agree.
But he probably can play but an extra week would be better.
Players play sore all the time.
Sure players play sore, do they play with broken bones?
Well, he did against Adelaide, so I guess they do.
Probably not in an ideal world, though.
Bruv if you aren’t a doctor (my assumption) then dont comment on whether or not he could potentially play this week or not.
He is probably still sore, but at no risk of re injuring it.
We will find out for sure in the next week or 2, if they pick him.
And if you are a doctor, then God help us all.
kidding haha
Ok so let me get this straight
The theory is he hasn’t fully recovered and isn’t ready to play. So they put him on a plane to travel with the team to Adelaide. Did I get that right?
It’s not that hard to comprehend surely
Setterfield has been in full training for a month, played a full game of VFL two weeks ago in which he performed very well in. Is fully fit and ready to go, plus a good match up for Oliver
Tsatas broke a bone in his hand 3wks ago, had surgery, has not been able to be involved in full training until this week and is clearly still hampered / protecting the hand given wearing a glove. He is not 100% fit as hand would be tender/got soreness still/easily flare up if got knocked, but could play IF an emergency required it, likely only as sub
You play the player who is ready and able for the full game. It’s not exactly a new concept
So if you’re suggesting her could play, then why isn’t he playing?
Answer, because he’s not rated
I think he could do with another week off, but he traveled with the team because he is part of the future and perhaps could have played. Some players got left behind to play vfl, Tsatas wasn’t one for a reason.
I don’t know how you could listen to anything Scott has said about Tsatas and not think he would be in if he was 100%.
How many times have you heard a coach say “he could probably play this week but we are just making sure”
Literally hundreds if not thousands.
Thats what is happening here.
This can’t be right because brad told us repeatedly he wouldn’t play unfit players. Parish was told he had to come back via VFL. So if Tsatas is on the emergency list the only conclusion is that he is fit but not in our best 23 players.
If they are just making sure then he shouldn’t be an emergency.
Oh that’s an easy one
What scott says and what scott does are two completely different things. Usually the opposite of one another.
I’m sure it will be commented on soon enough.
I don’t view it in the same way you do. One of us will be proven right I guess.
