Goldstein stiff not to be promoted.
Nah we want them to grow up being losers instead of winners just like the generation of Essendon players before them.
No real loss.
Need to be able to kick in modern footy
Ask any young Hawks player if they think winning serves no purpose.
Hawks jettisoned O’Meara and Mitchell and played young players. The opposite of what we are doing
Yes but Mitchell wouldn’t think winning is pointless
Yeap has no pace, no defensive effort and the worst kick of the footy. I reckon he might be gone by end of year.
Granger Barrass was pick 6 and Hawks got rid of him sometime it happens where top end picks are busts
tsatas isnt a bust
He might not be a bust but he’s kicking is poor and doesn’t have that dog determination to defend/scrap to win the ball.
Yeap
The fact he gets 25 or so possessions his last game and isn’t an automatic selection in a side that’s rebuilding says everything you need to know
I would call Tsatas a nice player.
I’m after players like Durham,Caldwell these are the type I want Essendon to draft players who are dog hungry for the contest
i must be watching a different player. tsatas sees ball and gets ball he loves the contest.
Setterfield is 27, not 37.
The characterisation of Tsatas as a soft receiver type player is bizarre.
I’m looking at it as an indication that they would prefer to give Tsatas one more week with his hand. It wasn’t that long ago that he broke it, and had surgery. I bet he’s probably still getting some pain and potentially swelling, so perhaps extra time is the safer bet in the long run.
We are running short of midfielders, so it makes sense taking him over to cover a sudden hamstring pull in the warmups, otherwise he could do with some extra recovery time.
I think - despite him being named emergency, its pretty clear that Tsatas isnt playing because of the injury.
The coaches have been talking him up all pre season and Scott even praised him in his last post game presser.
Its more than likely, he could play, but they are just giving him an extra week to heal the hand.
They think very highly of him, rightly or wrongly.

Makes a lot of sense.

Yeah I reckon that’s the case.
I know people point to being named emergency etc but I’m not reading into that.
