Changes v Dockers

We all hope Roberts is in. Who knows? I reckon we’ll find Heppell and 2MP are in, which they should not be.

The only way all of Bryan, Hobbs, Davey and Roberts play is if the club demands it. Scott won’t voluntarily make this many changes involving the promotion of kids over the retention of washed up veterans

No strategy involved at all, just hope.

The situation with Perkins has made Scott look bad. It may be that player loyalty is his weakness. But the way the situation has evolved it looks like the player has been dropped due to public outcry rather than any strategic move from the coaching panel.

Similarly with Parish. Now seems to have been a panic move. The guy was brought in far too soon. Should have at least had a run in the two’s to pick up some match fitness.

Is that the bit bit where he constantly complains about umps decisions, and gives away stupid 50s?

Perkins had 4 possessions, he fully deserved to be dropped for that.

He’s not perfect … he’s learning. But he doesn’t hide is my broader point.

That’s not the point I’m making. Perkins should have been dropped weeks ago. That it has only happened after the club is under the microscope makes Scott look bad.

Ah fair enough.

I honestly think he has been awful this year.
Has looked slow and disinterested, and when the ball has hit the ground just doesnt look to want to compete.
Not sure whats up with him.

Agreed. Outstanding in Dreamtime, very ordinary the rest. And since he returned the defence has turned to sh$t. Coincidence maybe. i rate him highly but he has either been injured or unhappy, he has not been having a crack,

Of course we are, that’s my point come out win 3 of last 4 we will be in.

It was more the fact Brad sounded defeated, to the point he has given in on finals.

That’s why we won’t win another game this season.

I think with him there the back line becomes to tall, because none of them are competent ground level players.

Was watching an Essington highlight from 2019 and the opposition kick the ball into our defence, Ridley goes up, ball hits ground and they score the easiest goal out the back without any of our players competing.

Its a serious area we have not addressed properly. You would think that having Mcgrath there helps that but he is horrible in those situations too.

Be interesting to see how we go without him for the next few games. May be a blessing in disguise as a team, though I think he is a very good player

Yeah im not blaming him individually.
We just have the completely wrong balance back there atm

We need better small defenders who are actually defensively aware because Redman and Mcgrath aint it.

How many times we see soft ground level goals kicked against us.

I think/hope these will be the changes

I am unsure on the ruck situation. The best mix to go against Darcy & Jackson is a tough one, I am leaning towards Bryan just getting thrown into it

OUT: Ridley (inj), Perkins Heppell, Menzie, Wright?
IN: Kelly, Roberts, Hobbs, Davey, Bryan ?

B: Kelly McKay Cox
HB: Martin Lav McGrath
C: Duursma Caldwell Jones
HF: Stringer Caddy Hobbs
F: Gresham Draper Langford
R: Bryan Durham Merrett

B: Parish Shiel Roberts Redman
Sub: Davey

Also could be Davey in the team & Roberts sub with a plan that when Roberts comes in Martin gets moved fwd for one of the talls (Bryan often been subbed early and will get gassed quicker v Darcy).

goodluck, are you mathematically a medal chance? or just to make the team.

Well, look.

I’d have to find a sport I’m good at, train for it, get really good at it, qualify for it and then push for a medal. All while working full time with 2 young kids at the age of 38.

So about on par with the prospects of Essendon making the finals.

It happened with Weid last year also

In: Kelly, Hobbs
Out: Rids, Perkins

Save yourself the false hope and accept that it is happening.
