Changes v Saints

Liam Henry for Saints out for the season with cartlidge damage

Handy out for us

Are we capable of beating St. Kilda? Not if we play, the way we have been playing.
We will drop out of the 8. In order to hold our ground, we need to play well and we need to be competitive. Itā€™s all up to us, no more excuses.

I donā€™t think it matters. We had handy outs against the Dees and Crows.

If we go in with the same weak mindset, it wonā€™t make a difference who the opposition team field.

True but he gives Saints a lot pace can also kick a goal

If thatā€™s the difference between beating or losing to St Kilda then we really are in trouble.

Of course but we need all the help we can get right now :joy:

Iā€™m getting Slobbo vibes hereā€¦

ā€™ Go to the local, have a pot, look each other in the eye and say ā€œdo you wanna come with me and lift this club out of mediocrityā€ ā€™

Our most recent losses are all about us unfortunately.

Not much changes with Essington.

When Robbo says have a pot, I assume he means of Baileys or Port or something.

That bloke ainā€™t ordering anything short of a pint off tap.

In- Hind, ADJ, Roberts, Hobbs, Tsatas
Draper gets a chop out from Cox or Jones.

Nino is being clubbed by multiple posters (me included), yet wonā€™t lose hope or positivity.
Itā€™s almost inspiring.

Essington say ā€œhold my beerā€.

St. Kilda (and all of Rossā€™s teams) are at their best when they torch you over the back, which is our achilles heel. Coaches must address it this week.
McGrath and Lav are the worst at taking over-aggressive positioning and being left flat footed in a race back to the oppo goal. McGrath was pushing that high he ended up deep in our forward pocket on numerous occassions, leaving us wholly exposed where he should have been. Less kick chasing and better defensive set up required this week.
We lack closing speed all over the ground, making it harder to pressure the opposition and giving their better kickers extra space to hit targets. Hinge was very damaging for the Crows. We need Hind back in the side and as much as he isnā€™t really ready for AFL, we need to look at bringing Davey back in.

Henry, Phillipou, King and Windhager all missing from their best team. It would say a fair bit if we lost to them.

Henry and king the only big outs there.

Windhager would get the tagging job on Merrett and heā€™s generally very good at it.

The Max King of 2024 is no loss to be fair.

I reckon itā€™s just a genuinely 50:50 game. Iā€™d have St Kilda (alongside Adelaide and maybe one or two others) as the teams right around our level. Iā€™d disregard us having been higher for most of the year, that is largely a function of the fixture and us having spent our tickets early, as we always do.

It shouldnā€™t be a 50 50 game but it is.
Our confidence is down. We are making too many unforced errors in our D50 and allowing transition (Coast to coast)

IMO
Perkins needs to be dropped or play as a forward pocket. Canā€™t allow easy clearances anymore.

Goldstein out also.

A couple of positional changes should help a lot.
I said it last week but I think we will win comfortably.

90% of games are 50/50. The Saints beat Sydney. Most teams are capable of beating anyone.
