It will be the other way around.
We’ll get our pants pulled down against WCE, “this is not who we are” etc. We’ll have upset wins against Collingwood, Sydney and Bulldogs before reverting to normal.
It’s part of the essendon redemption cycle

PANDO
Not sure those will sell out TBH
I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I genuinely cannot see us losing a game for the rest of the season.
Good point!
Ryan Daniels going with Tim Kelly back in.
No, I want to replace them with Tsatas and Hobbs in the middle.
Nguyen is sub.
I never want to lose, and I don’t want to lose on Friday, but the thought of both our first round draft picks elevating a notch does give one pause …
If you’ve recited those outcomes from memory that’s pretty impressive.
I don’t think comedy is your go
McGrath is undroppable so he is definitely playing.
It won’t make any material difference if our pick changes from 6 to 8, or 9 to 10 because of one additional win here and there.
We need to trust that the newer people in the organisation have more insightful draft selections, and we do a better job at development. Finding 5 Archie Roberts is probably going to be more important than making sure by tanking we move from pick 6 to pick 3. You might move to pick 3, but ingrain a loss culture in this new group of players. These newer players don’t care a toss what happened in 2011, they don’t own that history, they own their performances now.
So let’s hope we get the win, especially a pretty rare one in the west, even if the Eagles aren’t the Eagles we used to fear.
Nguyen is behind so many on the list of getting a game.
why would he get a game before
Lewis Hayes, Zach Johnson, Day-Wicks, Laverde, Goldstein, Davey and others performing better in the VFL?
Alex ‘Liked’ it !
I wasn’t aware that Nguyen had done anything impressive enough to push him into the AFL side. Wouldn’t Zak Johnson have more of a case?
It also is an incredibly hard case to drop guys who are generally recognised as being form players. Setterfield could be considered temporary for Tsatas, but you need to be very careful picking a high frequency handball guy with a surgically repaired hand. He’d need to be properly fit. And how can you justify dropping Shiel? As much as I never wanted him near the team at the start of the season you have to give credit where it’s due and say his move back into the midfield brought out the best in him.
Setterfield is an important part of the mix especially the way he played last week.
Merrett Caldwell Durham are locked.
The logjam is Shiel Parish Hobbs and Tsatas.
They can’t all fit in the same team once all fit.
One of them will miss once all are fit. Maybe even two.
He’s a real barrel of laughs
I’ve said in other threads I like Setterfield in the team. We always seem to play better with him as the big body.
Prior is in for now but Zac Johnson should be eyeing off his spot in the next month
