The club can be criticised for a lot of things right now…
This isn’t one of them. In the last ten years, we have done a lot to try and nurture indigenous talent and players - Davey twins, Wanganeen, Tipungwuti, Jake Long, Irving Mosquito … amongst others.
And sad facts are that apart from Tipungwuti, none of them have been good enough for this level. Or lacked the commitment.

We’ve been rollling Nik Cox and Tom Edwards through the wings. I reckon we could give new recruit ARTEMIS a game there next week.
All I know is that if we have just enough AFL players to field a team……. Brad would rather play 1 man short than give Tsatas a game ffs

Mc kay can stay in and just be size in the goal square. Give ridley an extra week. We would rather have him in against the scum.

I think there was ample evidence that neither of the Davey boys were up to it.
Wanganeen and Long both got chances that they wouldn’t probably have got if their fathers were not past champions.
Mosquito looked a real prospect until he did his knee? and went home.
The fact that none of them were picked up by other clubs (yeah, I know Wanganeen is now on St Kilda’s list but nobody bothered to pick him up last year after his delisting in 2024) gives weight to the idea that delisting them was not the wrong thing.
