Changes v Won't Be Ninthmond

Out: McKenna, Hams
In: Zaharakis, Francis

Okay…all of you jizzed your pants watching Fanta and Tippa in the forward line. Just imagine if we get Longy in the team and create our own 3 amigos. Bring him in.

Francis will be a sure in.

What’s happened to Jerrett? Does he just not get another game now becasue he only had 20 something possession with 70+% disposal efficiency?
Does anyone know what’s going on with him? Is he injured or just out of favour?
Seems like he plays two games in a row and gets dropped.
I just think we will end up losing him to a team that will turn him into a star.

He’s gonna chew Hampson up and spit him out.

Loony and Zaka automatic ins.
Michael and McKernan out.

Loony back ■■■■ yes. So so so underrated on here. His season has been huge.

And getting better.

McKenna fan club need to understand he was probably our least effective player.

Yeah he did a few good things and is still learning. But 9 possessions for a HBF not good enough. Gleeson’s 12 not much better. Both only had 1 tackle also.

It will be one of those two that gets dropped for Zaka IMO, with McKenna most likely.

Senior players come back in. Inexperienced players go back out. It’s just the way it is.

Gwilt definitely played a poor defensive game but structurally he won’t get dropped, had Francis played well in 2’s perhaps so but he didn’t.

And Leuey clearly straight back in, toss up b/w Michael and Smack out as they were both pretty ordinary also.

It’d be an interesting message to send to Zaharakis if Worsfold left him out…

But he won’t.

This game better be worth me freezing half to death.

And wasting money I can’t afford to waste.

But what if we won, you would never forgive yourself if Tippa kicked a 55m Barrel after the siren to win the game.

Nobody will be able to celebrate the win, because hell will have frozen over.

If we knock off Richmond, I’ll be very, very happy with season. We should have won last week, but the pay off - in my imagination - would be better. To beat 2 or Richmond, Carlton (in the last round), and throw in Brisbane?

I’m a romantic, but not stupid - I’ll take one more win please, and the others close losses, to make sure we know we’re heading in the right direction and the opposition to realise how ■■■■ they are. That’ll do.

Order of satisfaction: Carlton, Richmond, Brisbane.
Order of probability: Brisbane.

I was as ■■■■■■ off with Zaka when he squibbed that contest as anyone, and we know he hasn’t learned to shake a tag, but come on, the guy took a huge step forward in the first half of the year. I know, I know, he should have done it earlier etc. We are pretty quick to turn. If he was at Hawthorn we’d be referring to him as Poppy the hero of the world or some ■■■■.

Needs to come back in and take ■■■■ on. The punch to the gut at least showed his frustration. I just hope that contest in the middle haunts him for a bit. Who knows, but he comes straight back in.

can't believe people wanting cooney dropped. been one of our best this year and would be top 5 in best and fairest right now.

Zaka def comes in but Cooney won’t be the one to make way.

McKenna prob most vulnerable but he deserves another game.

Tough call on who to drop.

I agree that Cooney has had really solid from round 8 v nth but before then he was horrible bar the Geelong/Melb game. My issue is his unwillingness to commit his body to the contest with tackling as the stand out part. This was evident at the start of the year and has crept back in again against west coast. Add to that some very questionable disposal particularly those little 30m chips straight to the opposition under little pressure.

I just think given what he is delivering plenty of other players could fill that role with very little downside. If Cooney is to go again then yes I guess he keeps playing but if this is his last year then I would much rather have any of the younger guys fighting for spots filling his role. This year is the chance to blood kids without the normal blowback when it doesn’t work.

It feels he plays within himself and there is some self preservation in his style. I guess I don’t feel like efc is obliged to play him out like we would if he had spent his career with us.

Who had membrey?

I believe this guy was supposed to be picked up by Gwilt, as he was rated the 2nd/3rd tall forward.
G1 Hartley (mark)
G2 Gwilt (mark)
G3 Dea/Gleeson ( turn over when Darcy switch back to a contest )
G4 Gwilt (mark)
G5 Hartley. ( soft free for a dropped mark ).

We couldnt do much worse with Francis picking up the 3rd tall instead of Gwilt. ?
Right now Gwilt might have the edge in ground play , Francis is a better mark but does tend to play off his opponents but really needs to learn when its safe to do so.

We were pressing up pretty high, tough to ask a player to play a zone and a man at the same time (unless they’re Dustin Fletcher). When you guy the high press you concede goals over the top occasionally. I thought Gwilt took a number of key grabs and generally used the ball well.

play the future and not the no future, and I think it would be good for the players to win another or two. The scumbags at the AFL will give the Bears a priority anyway.
