I don’t think the club would swing Stewart forward but I personally believe he showed a lot more in that position. It’s kind of strange we didn’t persist with him there when Hooker was close to retiring and Daniher was unfit/wanting out. Instead we decided to play him back and then planned to bring Hurley and Ambrose into the forward line. It’s fair to say he’s struggled to look like an AFL footballer since.

Still out with a calf injury. Even if he was fit, of the 5 we lost only Ridley would have been close to being a like-for-like replacement. Stewart couldn’t replace Durham on a wing, Kelly as a small defender, nor Guelfi as a small forward, and hasn’t trained recently as a forward to replace Waterman in the forwardline.
