Cutler and Smith both unavailable because of injury
Quarter.
One really good quarter.
From what I remember of quarters, there’s normally 4 of them?
Langers should be playing in the twos. Looks Miles off it. Can only think if he doesn’t make way it’s because of structure or the need to rest someone else.
Has missed a lot of footy
Where is Reid at?
Looking at how far off we are from putting our best 22 out there, we are probably only McGrath and Perkins away from it.
You could argue the toss about Stewart but don’t reckon that’s clear cut. Ditto Smith and Cox.
Perkins is an interesting one because he’s clearly a best 22 player and he’s a real talent but in terms of structure, it’s hard to find exactly who he’d slot in for in a team that has Stringer, Langford, Martin and Durham all playing centre - forward roles.
I mean you can definitely get him in there by dropping a smaller pressure based player like Guelfi or Snelling. But does that actually make us worse in terms of ‘system’/structure? Which already isn’t really great as is.
You could argue that this year, that probably doesn’t matter that much.
My point is Perkins should just about walk in to the side, and I’m a fan, just trying to see how you’d facilitate that.
Ah well, by the time he’s back, someone will probably be injured anyway and it will be much simpler.
No way Snelling should be sub.
He needs game time, not bench time.
Play him in the Reserves to find some touch.
In McGrath, Out Snelling
He played in the VFL team and did OK, so he should be available for selection.
Durham as sub?
The gut running wingman that links up, defends and attacks at the right times. Tackles, marks, fights, never gives up.
That guy? You want him as the sub?
Rutten explicitly said McGrath is back next week FWIW
Zorko & Rich will miss with hamstring injuries.
Question marks over Hipwood at the tribunal.
Lol worst move ever
I suggest you go watch the highlights and count how many involvements Durham had in our goals last night.
Heck I’ll save you the time.
MOST OF THEM.
It won’t happen but from a team balance perspective, I’d have Kelly come out for McGrath.
Out: Kelly
In: McGrath
B: Ridley BZT McGrath
HB: Hind Laverde Redman
C: Durham Merrett Martin
HF: Langford Jones Snelling
F: Guelfi Wright Stringer
R: Draper Parish Caldwell
I/C: Hobbs Shiel Heppell D’Ambrosio
Sub: Kelly/Ham/whoever
Durham? I’d recommend you watch the game.
I thought it was great. He nailed 2 Dogs players with the one shove.
No changes for mine.
I came here to write this unironically for once. The VFL was diabolical yesterday. Nobody is pushing for selection this week
No changes unless McGrath is ready. And if he is ready then bye Snelling. Get some form in the 2s wouldn’t be a terrible thing. Running him ragged in the seniors is flirting with danger I feel like. I don’t want him injured again.
If we were in finals contention I would leave McGrath out to make sure he stays good. And I apply the same approach now.
But wowee we might be approaching selection dilemma!!!
Who woulda thought!
I still want BBB, Menzie, Voss, Hird, McBride to have a run for 2 or 3 weeks!
Snelling was 3rd B&F last year. He plays.
Heppo?
