Me neither. I remember 2021 when we beat WC in Perth and I was there on holiday. Was a glorious night.

We need to discover an avenue to goal. Teams seem to find it too easy to shut down our scoring. Personally I think the damage is being done on our half back line and midfield. If you pressure our ball carriers they will most likely cough up the ball. Or, to be frank, you sit on them to make the inevitable mistake and swoop on in.

Our inability to put teams away is a reflection of this. We were all over Collingwood and couldn’t put them away. The lengths we were reduced to in order to score against Gold Coast was comical.

I don’t know, am I going to be as angry to miss a final as I am to watch us get pantsed because we cannot execute simple skills with no pressure.

Let’s see if they take our spot in the finals or not

They essentially win every game at home or in uber humid conditions elsewhere in the top end, and lose all their away games.

It seems to have nothing to do with the opposition or perceived quality of the opposition.

I’m not sure if it could be any clearer ?

We need to keep playing Caddy as many AFL games as posible. Caddy needs work on his set shot goal kiking.

Wright plays his best at Marval. You would just play him there and drop him for Freo and Brisbane game.

I’d like to see Goldy back in, but not at the expense of Caddy.

In Goldy Laverde Setterfield?
Out 2Mp Heppell Archie

Season is cooked.

Brad will still select Heppell.

You can make whatever changes you like - Goldstein for either of Draper or Wright, Roberts for Heppell, Setterfield/Tsatas for Perkins, any small forward you can think of for Gresham, etc etc, none of the changes will materially improve performance.
We are fielding close to our best team (Parish only out), and the vagaries of form and run of the game will cause all sorts of ups and downs. No-one from our VFL is going to improve the side.
Improvement will only come in doing better at things we are terrible at.

  1. Moving the ball quicker - for god’s sake, turn and go, and demand that players up ahead move for you, instead of doing Kelly impersonations.
  2. Don’t concede out the back goals !!! At least 3 walk ins, in the wet where goals are like hens’ teeth, and we let players get behind our defence in acres of space.
  3. Kick it to advantage better.
And about half a dozen other things, but I’d settle for those.
It isn’t the individuals we are picking that we should be looking at for improvement.

Crows could actually beat us, most coaches now know we have a dysfunctional forwardline so they will allow our 60 entries a game and get us on the rebound or turnover.

Beat us in the middle in clearances and stoppage you beat Essendon

From the Archie Roberts thread.

There is a flow on effect from having Martin moved forward. He will draw more attention from defenders, so there will be less attention on our other forwards, making it a little easier to score. It might only be a marginal difference, but at this level that can be all that is needed.

Just thinking back to the WCE’s game post the Bye, Stringer looked really sharp with the week off.
5 Clearances, 4 of those CB from 13 attendances, plus the 5 goals.

I wonder if rather than giving him a “Managed” week which would obviously help him personally prior to the Freo game, could we make him the SUB for 1 or both of the Crows/Saints ?

Give him a decent rest prior to the tough last month of games, but still have him available in both games if the scores are tight.

Could Ridley ever go forward?

Why would you want to do that ?
