LOL Nino.
We have the game to lose, of course. But then again, we always lose this one so maybe you’re right.
Jeez there’s a fair bit of defeatism going on around here, especially since we’re coming up against a 3 win Richmond lineup missing Lynch and Hopper.
Dons by 24.
No Munny will be playing on the MCG anyway. Get there at 2:30 to watch him.
Id love to see them bring VOSS and Wanganeen this week, with Ridley.
And then see VOSS fend off Dusty. would be highlight for the year, Dusty always beats us up. love to see us giving it back to him. Its like he pencils in 20+ possessions 3 goals and 3 brownlow votes every game against us.
Snelling? Probably the most likely of the VFL anyway.
Unlike the last 5 years, they’re not actually better than us on paper. We serve up what we did against Port/Pies/Cats, we win.
Tiges are not traveling all that well, although they did have a welcome return to form against the Cats. At the moment they are still a bit flakey and gettable.
hopper out helps.
setterfield can just go head to head with taranto which will be interesting.
i’m expecting to lose shiel
i think we need to fix the problem with our inability to create an effective contest up the line. we need to at least be forcing stoppages on the flank/wing from our slow exists, if we keep giving up repeat entries and lose the inside 50 count by 20 or 30 again we can’t win.
i really hope we get kelly back because i’d like him to play on Martin when he’s forward
Load up on Rioli for the medal, ripping form and we’ll leave him by himself.
looks like Davey is in, can’t have him promoting all this stuff only to be omitted.
Hill
Impey
Davey
Motlop
Rioli
Parfitt
Hill
I’m going to the footy this week with my youngest son for the first time in 4 years. I have even bought him a dreamtime jumper, so if they get smashed I wont be happy!
Davey may still end up sub.
I’m expecting Kelly unavailable still if mid week delayed concussion symptoms
Ridley a definite and Snelling should be also given BDB not happy about fwd pressure
On that note I doubt Bryan will be given the fwd/ruck spot over Phillips still, frankly if Nank plays we will need Phillips bashing into him at times over the game.
Hopefully Baldwin gets another go and doesn’t just drop out for returning Ridley
So minimal changes IMO
IN: Ridley, Snelling
OUT: D’Ambrosio, Davey*, Menzie (was sub)
*to be sub
EFA
If you’re going to play Davey, you play him. It’s very hard for a young player to impact coming on as a sub.
Richmond’s rate of converting inside 50s to scoring shots is the worst in the league. our’s is amongst the best.
we’re both pretty reasonable at reducing the effectiveness of opposition inside 50s.
if we break even at stoppages and not get locked into their attacking end i think we’ll win
Not impacting as a full game either.
If it wasn’t for Dreamtime might have been dropped altogether IMO
They may choose to give him the full game however
With Guelfi back next week then may have a period in 2’s
Sad to say, D’Ambrosio is a probably out. I remember being blown away by how good his disposal was in the first few games he played last year.
Its sometimes said that when a player debuts, the coaches say, just go out and play your natural game. Then the coaches start to mould them into what the game plan demands and , you guessed it, what was good about them farking disappears.
Contrast that with any kid called Daicos at Collingwood, they have license to do what ever they like, anywhere they like and probably they deserve it, Nick in particular being a generational talent.
I guess the difference is now the Collingwood game plan is the DAICOS gameplan.
We simply don’t rise to big occasions against traditional rivals. Richmond’s pressure will go up a notch at some point in the second half and we won’t be able to match them. Expect one of their senior A Grade players to tear us apart.
I’ve already pretty much resigned myself to the fact we’ll succumb and our lack of match winning talent will be exposed.
I am more than happy to be proven wrong.
