Changes vs Eagles (Marvel)

Yes and No. Yes because we are playing a different brand of footy with different players, but no, because the Eagles will come into the game confident that they can match it with us at Marvel.

Confidence is a strange thing, it’s the reason some teams go on long runs against other teams. One team feels they can’t lose and the other feels they can’t win. Collingwood is like that with us atm.

A strong first quarter can crush that confidence though, and WC not being a good side will crumble.

I can’t believe we only beat West Coast by 67 points. Burn the club down.

I don’t read it that way with Coll.

They keep going in as favourites to warm favourites, yet we’re always with them right at the end of games, and often lead late in games.
I actually reckon their players are thinking…“Fark, this mob are always up against us, we have to find extra to beat them”.

Agreed.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt this confident.

I’m fairly lid off at the moment, but I’m still a bit nervous about the way we dropped away last year. If we just fall over the line or we lose, I’m straight to the lid on thread and I’m locking myself there for the rest of the season

We have been in winning positions for the past 3 games and ■■■■ our pants when it mattered.

When exactly were we in a winning position in that final game of 2023?

I must have missed those 12 seconds or so.

I was confident we would flog North, but we never really got on with it.

Tigers thought they would be good early, but that game was a lot harder than it felt it should have been.

Dogs and Giants wins were nice surprises as I had them as slightly less than 50/50 games
We were lucky we got Hawks early.

I forgot about that game. The 2 previous games and Anzac day.

We take a different view on this.

You think we are scared of Coll.
I think we go in as confident.
Ability and composure got them over the line in those games (somewhat luckily in '22), but we have narrowed the gap.

I expect us to be a bit scratchy in the first quarter post-bye, before we regroup and grind out an 18 point win (having lead by 36 early in the last).

The point about ■■■■■■■■ our pants definitely holds for that game, though.

I remember Will Snelling giving Nic Martin an absolute bake for missing an easy tackle early in the game and thinking “mmm, this is going to be bad”.

Would happily take this because it gives us the most important thing, 4 points.

Having a fit and healthy list to go in with must give us confidence.
Having Draper and Caddy will bring excitement and enthusiasm, plus the arrow from Duursma will get the crowd up and about.

Fujitsu man giving the pleb a chance for the first 50m and then just putting on the afterburners for the last 50 to win by 5 or so meters is always hilarious.

We should drop 2MP, but Scott will drop Jones because reasons.

Not that it means much, but 2MP was in the the red jumper in main training yesterday…

Goldy should be dropped first. He has been a liability for the past month.

Best opposition players in that time have been

Xerri
Nankervis
DeKonning

Liability is a touch strong. But he’s definitely had a tough time of it, he needs help and we should’ve been playing 2 rucks. I expect that’ll be the case going forward but it does create questions about how tall we are.
