I wouldn’t dare leave you chargrined, mortified nor stupefied.
Out: Hind, Davey, Goldy rested
In: Tsatas, Guelfi, Bryan
Maybe Hobbs out for Shiel and Lav for Hayes but doubt Scott will make more than 3 changes after a 9 day break.
Goldy would benefit from a rest and no trip to Perth. Get him fresh for the run into the bye and reward Bryan’s efforts in the 2s.
Id love to see Caddy in as well but maybe save that for the game against North
Think i might head down to Vic Park on Saturday and watch the rezzies. See if anyone can force their way into side.
Jon Ralph
- Jones is fine to play against the Eagles.
- Perkins will be available to play the Eagles.
- Guelfi could have played this week but will have a run in the VFL.
- Shiel will play again in the VFL this week. “He can’t get back into the side right now”.
But did say that Guelfi, Shiel and Perkins will be options for next week.
Won’t affect Harley Reid
Out: Goldy, Hind
In: Perkins, Guelfi
Without Stringer in the middle today, we lose.
he also campaigned for some tribunal action on draper
Had a look at the stats.
Stringer attended 21 bounces today and Caldwell 7.
Both were good today but just think that number needs to either swap of meet in the middle.
Stringer shouldnt be getting preference anymore over Caldwell and Duz.
I reckon Perkins’ return will see the end to that. Clearly wanted a bigger body in there.
Very early in the game, Hobbs did not chase. And a couple of other times stood & watched Collingwood sweep the ball away. Either not fit or lazy is Hobbs, thats 2 out of 3 weeks, looks terrible, needs to chase or get the fark off the ground
Danger game. This is the kind of game we lose on the past. And the Eagles are in form
But not sustainable going forward. I rather give Durham and Caldwell midfield minutes than Stringer
Same could be said of parish the majority of the time but he did lay one good tackle on pendlebury
Surely Goldy isn’t going over to Perth

Same could be said of parish the majority of the time but he did lay one good tackle on pendlebury
Thought Parish was excellent today. Pressured all day. Hobbs however had several opportunities to chase / apply pressure ,& he just watched the ball get run out despite all his team mates applying pressure acts …. he needs a rocket….same against Port. If he is stuffed, get off the ground

Out: Duursma - Been a bit ordinary for two weeks. Hobbs might also be dropable.
In: Tastas - Boy has talent and needs some games.
Hind - Needs to play some full games so he doesn’t do silly things like slipping over. His form doesn’t warrant full games in the AFL
In: Shiel - He isn’t going to win the courage medal against Parker but he is a good player.
Out (manage if it sounds better): Redman/Kelly/Laverde - All are fighters but slow ball movers. Defence is weakest area and we need to blood Hayes.
In: Hayes : Good kick, good decision maker, good inceptor, and we need some depth.
No way is Duursma being dropped, nor should he be. He plays a role no one else in the team can. He has been borderline flying this season.
Hobbs was unimpressive today, and with Perkins due back and Caldwell stepping up in the middle, his preferred position in the middle now looks further away. I would consider him as sub for next match.
I agree that Tsatas needs to come in to continue his development. No clear idea what position/role he would play.
We need to move past Hind, even as a sub, the sooner the better.
Shiel still needs to string a run of games together. He has been out for so long that he simply can’t walk straight back into the senior team.
Laverde needs to replaced, like Hind, the sooner the better. He is slow and indecisive and struggles to defend. One of Ridley/Reid/Hayes to replace him.
OUT: Goldstein (rested), Hind (sub)
IN: Perkins, Guelfi (sub)
Davey given one more chance to show some “edge”, but we just need his pace in the side.
If Robert’s and Hayes play well this weekend, there is an argument to bring in one of these guys and omit either a Kelly or a Heppell.
I think Robert’s will be a Jet.
Please. Heppell was one of our best today.
