Changes vs GC 2025

Hird is right Merret will be back in the midfield after the bye

With guys like Ridley,Reid,Redman avaible Merret goes back to the middle.

Durham & Redman should be the only locks IMO.

Given their injury history, Langford/Reid/Ridley to get some minutes in the VFL first, then a 7 day break for them to return against Richmond.

Out: Duursma Gresham Perkins Hobbs
In: Durham Redman Tsatas Davey (sub)

B: McGrath Laverde Prior
HB: Redman Blakiston Roberts
C: Clarke Setterfield Martin
HF: Durham Caddy Merrett
F: Guelfi Wright Kako
R: Visentini Caldwell Tsatas

I/C: May Parish Lual Johnson
Sub: Davey

we need to bring at least one of Reid/Ridley back to strengthen the defence. Ridley on return was awesome against tigers last year. (31 disposals and a goal)

Didn’t he come back via the VFL that time as well though? He got injured in round 8 against North this year, so he won’t have played for 8 weeks if we bring him straight back in, which is my worry.

Why on earth you would play Goldy is beyond me.

What makes people think Scott would select Tsatas and/or Davey?
Evidence and recent history says no way.

Scott probably wants to get Goldy passed Kade Simpson on games played.

He has passed 12 players this year

Because Vigo getting smashed by seasoned ruckman each week does nothing for his development.

Stating the obvious but he’s only played one game and the next one is after a bye.
I’m sure he’ll survive.

■■■■ Damien Hardwick and ■■■■ that nothing of a club GC.

Really hope we bring it against these ■■■■■■.

I get the “love” for Davey as a person but I still am totally underwhelmed by his on field performances and the calls for him to be brought back in to the team! Same for Lual who whilst he’s performed ok in 2 of his 3 games, I suggest he will remain maybe trade bait at the end of this year.

Agree.
I worry that our selection history brings them back too quick.
We can beat GC without them.

Brad did mention that it might not be a good idea to bring in 6 players at once.

Interesting to see what he does Durham,Redman in then one of Ridley or Reid imo

Langford happy to have him play a few vfl games

Tsastas won’t play. The supercoach doesn’t want him.
You could even tell that in the reserves coaches voice when the bloke from channel 7 asked him about why he wasn’t getting a game on Saturday night

Think there is a near zero chance we send Vigo in v Witts who destroys seasoned rucks as it is.

Goldy has had his two week refresher. He will be back against Witts.
Vigo has had his taste.

The absolute slaughter would be 10 times worse than v Jackson. Even though he showed promise.

It’s nothing against the kid, but it will be impossible to stop their mids if Witts is up against Vigo. Goldy will lose too, but is going to get closer in the hitout battle.

Midweek tackle saying that Liam McMahon is a chance for debut against the Suns.

Also think we may go with two rucks so Vigo would stay in. And they wouldn’t drop May.

Isn’t that too top heavy?

Its the Brad Scott way!

Wonder if he debuts back and takes Blakiston’s spot.

Rest Goldy another week.
If they’re reluctant for Vigo to take on Witts then play Wright as main ruck.
Blakiston plays as second ruck.
Forwards: Caddy and May.
I suppose it depends of Reid / Ridley come back in to take Blakiston’s spot?
Is there room for McMahon ?

Way too top heavy if we roll with Caddy, 2MP, May, plus a resting ruckman all up forward.

If we want to debut McMahon, he needs to come in for May and we should be sticking with one ruck (2MP pinch-hitting) IMO.
