IN: Caddy, Parish, Redman, Roberts
OUT: Heppell (cooked), Wright (susp), Menzie (omit), A.Davey (omit)

B: McGrath, McKay, Redman
HB: Cox, Laverde, Martin
C: Durham, Parish, Tsatas
HF: Perkins, Stringer, Langford
F: Gresham, Caddy, Caldwell
R: Draper, Setterfield, Merrett
INT: Hind, Goldstein, Duursma, Roberts, Hobbs

Caddy at least competes, which is more than can be said about Jones and Weideman, so he gets the nod there. Let’s face it, Kelly will be straight back in after missing due to illness but he makes us worse given his ball use. Fingers crossed that Parish is fit and right to go and there has been no recurrence of the hamstring issue. I’m really keen to see Roberts get a go sooner rather than later. We need some youth and enthusiasm, more than just Tsatas anyway.

Do people really believe that Heppell is a chance of being dropped ?

Heppell will be ‘managed’

Managed minutes maybe but will hold his spot in the team.

No more menzie and heppell please

Out - Wright (suspended), Laverde (liability), Menzie (not up to pace), Duursma (not enough edge)
In - Parish (if fit), Redman, Kelly, Caddy

Heppell was ok, leave him in. Duursma and Menzie, not enough grunt and Hind was a bit shaky. We need some upgrades there.

People are only now realising that Menzie is bog average I see.

‘But he kicked 23 goals last year’ yada yada.

If you’re one paced as a small forward you’ve got to have some incredible smarts, read the play better than others and be lethal when you get your chances or else it’s an uphill battle carving out a career in that role at AFL level.

It’s more a reflection of our dearth of small forward options than anything else.

You’d hope that after a season getting his body conditioned to footy again and getting his tank where it needs to be to sustain report efforts for 4 quarters, that come round 1 next year Jayden Davey is locked in to that forward line and it’s the start of a long career. We need guys who actually pose threats to the opposition in there and have genuine pace.

Let’s argue all week about Hobbs missing the game and Kelly still playing and then for late changes to happen and make it all redundant.

Good to see our players have trust in our medical staff.

Essendon edge :joy::joy::joy:that manufactured edge is such crap. We are unfortunately one of the softest sides in the comp. If not the softest

Saints play a very disciplined style of footy and have elite ball users, didn’t we let butler and higgins torch us for 7/8 goals between them last year?

Regardless I think they’re beatable, especially with the names they’ll be missing.

Saints don’t have brutes for KPD so we can get away without a proper 2MP replacement (not that we have one) for the week

I assume Ridley needs another week.

Out: 2MP, Hind, Menzie
In: Parish, Redman, Kelly

Ridley for Hep if he gets up.

Yeah, cant believe people would second guess our injury management. Good track record and all

Are you complaining about people complaining?

He was on average the fastest on defence and 2nd in offence for team. He’s certainly working hard both sides of the ball. If getting beat in transition is an issue why drop these types of players?

Out: Menzie, Hepp, Lav & Hind
In: Parish, Redman, Ridley & Parish

AJD forward pocket

Sub - Hobbs

Parish probably sat so he wouldn’t be blamed for the goals in transition. “Defensive liability - I’m not being the scapegoat this time!”

Some pretty good ins. Apart from Wright and Reid we’re looking pretty close to full strength.

No excuses this week. Keep the same intensity as we did against South Melbourne and we should win.
