Changes vs Ross Lyon football

Great expectations.

Urgent need of a ā€˜wake up call’ after playing a total of 8 quarters of the year? 5 of which have been pretty reasonable…

I’m looking forward to caddy’s debut but honestly, after watching the whole of the vfl game yesterday his performance didn’t really warrant a debut.

He was solid but definitely not banging down the door

So what’s the cause of the transition from defense. Is the key thing that our forward line pressure is so poor, or is it our midfield not running both ways?

Surely this isn’t a complex problem. It’s not a complex game. Why is this still such an issue?

Draper Setterfield Parish

I/C Perkins, Hobbs , Goldstein , Caldwell Tsatas (sub)

In Redman, Caddy, Jones, Kelly, Parish, Davey
Out Heppell, Wright, Laverde, Hind, Duursma, Menzie

Given the current VFL program, is anyone likely to shine there right now?

Weid will come in as he is closest in playing style to Wright.

Get used to it now to save yourselves the shock on Thursday.

A question to anyone selecting Jones to play.

What has he done since his poor performance against the Hawks to warrant a return?

He will not be selected and if he is, it’s more farcical than I could imagine.
I actually can’t believe he was a travelling emergency. The kid needs game time at VFL level.
Until he is knocking on the door with a string of good performances, he shouldn’t be considered.

PS - This is not a knock on Jones. I still have my doubts on our ongoing development and playing him at senior level is simply wrong and career killing.

He’ll be in Thursday so we have a good three days of despair. Late out for Caddy.

Answered your own question. Obviously seen as next in line, for better or worse.

7 news just showed McGrath in a moon boot - still hopeful he’ll play against the Saints

How long is it going to be for us to keep saying this.

It’s fking ridiculous. We’ve honestly been running with that line for about 5 years now.

If all us nuffies can see it’s a problem how can nobody at the club see it? Or how can they see it and yet not care enough to assemble a strong squad? Other AFL aligned clubs manage to do it.

His ankle probably gave way after the 3rd consecutive shank off the outside of his boot.

Would be a big out, already worried what their small forwards will do to us.

Menzie stays in, he plays well at marvel and is usually good for a couple of goals. He is better than alwyn davey, who does pretty much nothing and is completely outta his depth as an AFL player at the moment.

I actually think caddy with Langford and stringer is a pretty dynamic forward line. Caddy actually applies forward pressure for a tall as well which will be handy.

Player Draper at Full forward and bring Caddy in, please don’t select Weideman.

As our lowest rated player that took the field in the vfl, there’s no possible way Brad, in good conscience, could pick him.

Unfortunately that doesn’t mean anything when it comes to Weid being selected.

Injuries and suspensions

What a great start to year :+1:

Actually quite an achievement, really.

Ewww no. And I don’t even like Brad
Ross was only ever interested in coaching a mature team
He’s not interested in developing a young team
He was never going to come to Essendon

Would Ross play Heppell?
