Not a nuclear scientist, but pretty sure atom bombs don’t have “fuses” let alone fuses that have to be “lit” like eighteenth century cannons.
Regardless, the Hun shouldn’t blame Rioli for this schmozzle.

Forget all that, we need the answer to one burning question.
How many chairs hit how many walls?
What would Ron Joseph be saying now ? The smugness would be smashed right out of him
Can someone explain to me why the AFL didn’t investigate this issue themselves, interviewing Fagan and Clarkson, interviewing ‘the other coach’, during the summer?
It’s a good question. I believe the AFL wanted any investigation to be “independent” of themeselves. I believe the indigenous families had requested this to avoid an AFL self investigation whitewash
Initially, Gil had it all under control.
Around GF time, he said an ANNOUNCE of the AFL was imminent, he was just locking in the members of the AFL panel.
After he got the message that his in house inquiry was unacceptable, it took an age for parties to agree on a more independent inquiry, with TOR and panel composition ( apparently from a field who were prepared to join the panel with guarantees of arms length from the AFL).
Okay, I understand that.
I understand the aggrieved parties distrust of the AFL, and I understand why that kind of ties the hands of the AFL regarding an investigation.
And I guess I understand (at least two of) the three coaches being reluctant to be interviewed by an authority that is neither the AFL, nor any sort of legal authority.
What a friggin’ mess.

The dead one?
It was more a revolt by the other parties, not the coaches. I’d be surprised if there had been no informal chats with Clarkson and co. Remember, Newbold was a Commissioner at the time, he only stood down temporarily after it hit the fan.
And the AFL first choice was to run it themselves(probably with Mr Integrity Dillon pulling the strings)

It’s a very sorry saga.
My thoughts often drift to Rioli.
Me too. Was going to say he’s the only player to really publicly voice his resentment of the Hawks, and Jeff K. I wonder what he’s got to say about Clarkson.
HS saying 4 families are set to attend mediation and we’ve been told 2 are refusing so 6 players altogether? Do we know whether they all have grievances against Clarkson/Fagan or are some just Hawthorn in general?

For those who haven’t seen it.
Hit on Aitken at 1:09 left him with a broken jaw.
I’ve never seen the footage of that. Geez he ■■■■ his pants as soon as he realised there’d be consequences. Copped an absolute flogging too and rightly so.
What a friggin’ mess.
Nowhere near as big “a friggin’ mess” as what that Rsole Gil and all his cronies from LIz Lukin, through corrupt Lib MPs and ex-MPs, through the future Governor of Victoria, through ASADA, through WADA, through to the Swiss fkg courts inflicted on Essendon, our players, our coaches, our staff, our members, us.
Fark fkg Gil, fark the AFL, and fark their cronies like Clakko. I hope they all get much more than their “fair whack” they all said we deserved while having ZERO evidence of any wrongdoing. Fark 'em all.
