I said to my wife when Clarko took indefinite leave that it was going to kick off…low and behold!

Got to at least hand it to the afl too print the story on their website and i think it hits home enough.

Save bit where the letter kicks the boot in on the “blokes”.

Fabric torn, then shredded.

As a consequence l would like to see all indigenous players and draft hopefuls, make an informal pact, to say to the Dawks don’t bother trying to draft any indigenous players in the future, because if you do we will not play for you. A 10 year blanket ban would be appropriate.

How could they not be?

Seems the biggest issue the afl, hawthorn, and the coaches have is that hush money isnt the motive.

Interesting to read the comment in the statement that afl is contractually obligated to taking action against racism.

Be interesting to see if they are held accountable.

You cant underestimate cyril in this. Without him it woukd ve so much easier for everyone to brush this aside. They cant do that with cyril involved

Totally understand.

If that happened to us, I’d be gutted.

I think Hawks supporters may have now realised “■■■■. Something really happened here”

But Cyril needs to keep his missus under control

In one swift move the AFL have had the only thing they understand and one thing they use as a very effective weapon taken away from them…$$$

They’re about to find out what happens when someone can’t be bought off.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of ■■■■■.

They’ll attack the character of his wife instead.

Yes, I agreed up until this bit…

“And did Hawthorn, in trying to do the right thing, end up doing the wrong thing. Yes, quite possibly.”

Is it really anything other than the right thing to do, to investigate concerns of your employees, irrespective of what you might find?

If hawthorn are to be penalised, it should be for reasons other than investigating the serious claims.

I guess the most recent example was the systemic racism uncovered at Collingwood. The release of their report was all stage managed (after a leak or threat of a leak), and from memory there were no sanctions.

Kudos to the players and partners involved for naming themselves and this blowing Fagan’s bluff clean out of the water. Perhaps this was even a planned in advance strategy.

Edit: Nice thread title update.

So he’ll do an interim report, with a full report to come out later, just how he did with the saga.
Now where did I put that sarcastica font…
