Clakko & Co: family destruction allegations

They are seeking an apology and financial compensation as part of the court proceedings.

Money is clearly a factor.

Clarkson claimed the lawyers have prevented a settlement.

Lawyers act on instructions, though.

Yeah because the players lawyers instructed them not to attend the mediation unless the coaches admitted wrongdoing.

Itā€™s come out the meeting happened, that he was there, and they discussed the abortion.

So how you can deny it wasnā€™t a show of force to have all senior officials present?
Iā€™d love to know how you would phrase it to be honest.

I had my superintendent, team leader, supervisor and colleague in to discuss my off swing behaviour as a 19yr old (over a decade ago). Afterwards they honestly phrased it exactly as that, a show of force.
We didnā€™t discuss terminating a life, but simply terminating my employment should my behaviour continue. And honestly it was intimidating all the same.

Luckily for me I was surrounded by my friends and family, and I was very connected to my social circle. As opposed to isolated, alone, removed from my partner, and having my phone stripped from me.

You have very clearly no connection to indigenous way of life, and you try very little to empathise with cultural heritage.
These things are deeper than words, skin colour and employment. They are people, family and mental well-being.

Iā€™ve posted this beforeā€¦ but Iā€™ll do it again.
Three senior Hawthorn officials go to the home of a young pregnant girl (Burt confirms this) to support her partner leaving. WTF

Should have went for the ukelele like Scummo.

The player asked for them to attend.

He asked for all 3 to attend? Where did you read this?
(I totally disagree and am disgusted with their decision to do this - for all 3 of them to front up to her.)

There was more than one meeting, involving different players and their partners.
One partner had sought a meeting, in an effort to reconnect with her partner.
Another meeting was at the specific request of Clarkson, the partner was not asked beforehand who else would be coming.
If it goes to trial and if Burt and Fagan are witnesses on oath, it would be evidence of their recollections of what Clarkson said.

Whether itā€™s insensitive and intimidating to do any of that is one question. Whether it is culturally insensitive or racially motivated is another question entirely.

Yeah, thereā€™s no history in this country of power being wielded against Aboriginal people to meddle in their family, reproduction and employment - nothing to reflect on there. No need to adjust the approach to account for different histories. That would be reverse racism of course!

Thereā€™s a lot of behaviours that need to be changed across almost every facet of life if thatā€™s the standard you hold. Iā€™m not saying itā€™s right or wrong.

Thereā€™s a hell of a lot of things going right in the world.

There are a hell of a lot of things that need improvement.

Colonisation was only a moment ago in the scheme of things, evident in the massive, complex impact that is still unfolding. You can work to address this (e.g. as a manger in a workplace) or you can dismiss/ignore your capacity to be part of bettering things (and, arguably, your duty to do so if youā€™re benefiting from colonisation, even if that wasnā€™t your choice)(being wasnā€™t anyoneā€™s choice but it doesnā€™t seem to excuse them from ethical considerations)

Itā€™s appalling behaviour by men in powerful positions against a woman who holds less power and is in vulnerable position (in addition to any cultural bias).

Do you think itā€™s right or wrong?

Wonder how the Norf AFLW Coach , Darren Crocker, handles advice to his listed players and their partners and in recruitment.
The Australian average age for maternity has been increasing, now just under 30yo, with differences between States and the NT.
According to trends in maternal age, the NT maternal age is significantly younger than in other States and the ACT, with around 5% at younger than 20yo

The proportion of Indigenous who have given birth at under 20yo is around 11% Australia wide, with the highest proportions in WA, Queensland and NT.

An interesting and saucy portrayal- worth reading a few times to get some of the nuance.
