I learnt about the term âelite panicâ recently. It is used in archaeology and anthropology to refer to the elites who are more buffered against environmental threats tend to freak out more than those who are more vulnerable. Today seems like a good day to mention this.

Work have finally put out expressions of interest for a Sustainability Committee.
Hopefully this means the synopsis I submitted to rollover to sensor lights and timers gets past the brick wall it seems to have run into lol.

They only want to get gas out because we have a huge shortage due to the government not protecting our local supply.
Lets not pretend itâs for any other reason apart from saving face.

There is no gas supply shortage in the domestic market.
IIRC Duttonâs proposal for more domestic supply (and drill baby drill) is predicated on bringing down domestic prices
There definitely is a shortage. Not on the West Coast or QLD, but NSW and VIC have supply issues.

In late March, AEMO revised its forecasts, plummeting gas demand averted a looming gas crisis .
Gas consumption is falling faster than anticipated.
Thereâs plenty of gas for VIC and NSW, the challenge is it needs to come from north to south now instead of from Bass Strait. Thereâs a pretty major infrastructure upgrade underway to make that adjustment. This isnât something that is a crisis that requires knee jerk responses.
