I was told the following last night:

In Ascot Vale there was a menswear shop called Moncurs on the the corner of Union St & Maribyrnong Rd.

In the window was a Coleman doll dressed in a number 10 Essendon Guernsey.

When you pressed a button it kicked a ping pong ball through the goals.

I’m fascinated by Coleman’s legendary status in the community.

Does anyone have any knowledge of more information about this?

It was on the corner across Union St from the pub.

When I lived there in mid 1970s, the Coleman figure was in the window but it didn’t ever work. I think Moncurs closed about 2000 after our last flag, might be an omen !!
